Alan joined the firm's property practice group in 2014, and became an equity director two years later. His intimate involvement in the management of the property practice group assists in strengthening the relationship between the firm and its clients and helping to position the property practice group of the firm as a leading property practice. Directly after matric, Alan joined the then South African Police where he completed a National Diploma in Police Administration. As a police officer, he took night classes at the then Vista University to obtain his LL.B degree. Law enforcement's loss was the legal fraternity's gain when Alan completed his articles and initially practised as a litigant before crossing over into property law. Alan's strong work ethic, high standard and quality of service, coupled with his pleasant demeanour, makes him popular among clients and peers. He enjoys working closely with colleagues in various departments in order to provide exceptional solutions to his clients, making him a sought-after specialist in the property sector. To Alan, a weekend is well spent with a good dose of rugby or cricket. Christo is a director of Greyvensteins Inc. Cape Town and attends to the sale, transfer and mortgage of all real estate, housing and commercial developments and the registration of sectional title schemes in the Cape Town Deeds Office. He developed a keen interest in all matters pertaining to real estate transaction while serving as a candidate attorney in the Deeds Office some 17 years ago. In his early years as a conveyancer, he acted as a correspondent for various conveyancing firms which enabled him to develop a very specialised technical knowledge of a very broad range of property transactions. He enjoys evaluating property transactions involving servitudes, subdivision and the opening of sectional title schemes. Property related transactions revolve around meeting and balancing the expectations of various parties. As a conveyancer, he has not only developed his technical knowledge to meet expectations, but has also developed his dispute resolution abilities to ensure safe, secure and outcome driven results in all property transactions. Christo enjoys the support of a broad client base due to his outcome and solution driven approach to conveyancing and has built long-term relationships with various role-players in the property industry. Being a conveyancer with sound technical knowledge, he has been able to give back to the property industry by training and developing estate agents and property professionals and is often called on to assist with the assessment of property transactions from the initial marketing thereof right through to the sale and registration process. Greg joined the firm as a director in 2006 and heads up the commercial practice group, specialising in all aspects of corporate and commercial law, which is complemented by his qualification in business rescue administration. Greg comes from a family of attorneys which includes an identical twin brother. He obtained his B.Com LL.B degree from the then University of Port Elizabeth. A career highlight was his SCA victory in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality v Amber Mountain Investments 3 (Pty) Ltd 2017 (4) SA 272 (SCA) where it was held that a municipality can no longer withhold the issuing of a property rates clearance certificate until it had received payment of the property rates for the entire financial year. Greg also takes appointments as a trustee and liquidator in insolvent estates, trusts, liquidated companies and close corporations and administering these in terms of the relevant legislation. His broad knowledge of trusts, fiduciary and tax law also allows him to assist clients with estate planning and the management of their trusts and entities. At heart, Greg is a contract specialist who enjoys working on commercial transactions and creating unique solutions for his clients. His ability to view a transaction holistically makes him a sought-after colleague in other departments of the firm and he is often called upon to assist in guiding various stakeholders to a successful solution which takes into consideration all relevant aspects and viewpoints.
