Ann Day

‘I decided to join the Minstead trust when I found out all the good work they are doing to help people with learning disabilities to lead a more fulfilled life and to help them to become more independent. I wanted to support the team at the trust, in order to make this happen' Ann is a FCMA fully qualified accountant with more than 30 years' experience in property, having held finance director (FD) positions at Crest Nicholson, Tilfen Land and Sunley Estates. Ann's extensive background sees her specialise in forecasting and budgeting, strategic planning, treasury management and raising finance through various channels, together with running the accounts team and internal audit functions. Ann now provides FD services and non-executive services to small companies alongside running Day Associates with Kevin Day. She is, amongst other areas, responsible for new business, strategic planning and HR within the company.

Dawn Wood

Dawn's role encompasses marketing, fundraising, strategy and new business development. Dawn joined Minstead Trust in January 2015 and was appointed to the role of Head of Development in June 2015. Her role encompasses marketing, fundraising, strategy and new business development. Prior to joining Minstead Trust Dawn was a charity consultant, supporting national charities to develop good governance, create effective outcome monitoring and evaluation programmes and "living" strategic plans. This followed a time at Help the Aged, where Dawn was a Senior Manager in the Commerce and Corporate Fundraising Team. Dawn's early career was in marketing, holding positions as a Buyer for The Boots Company and Marketing Manager for Ty-Phoo Teabags. Dawn is a member of the Institute of Fundraising.

Graham Waters

Heidi Oldrey

Heidi leads the People and Culture Team, who provide Human Resources, Payroll and Volunteer Support. Heidi's experience includes Human Resources Director of a not-for-profit social enterprise providing care, support and transport across central southern England for older people and people with a disability. She has also managed a Community Centre, a charity comprising a range of activities including a Dementia café. More recently she gained invaluable experience in regional roles within retail and infrastructure services. Heidi enjoys working for Minstead Trust because of its values and the opportunity to work alongside so many inspiring people.

Ian Clark

Jay Powell

Jay Powell heads up the Trust's social enterprises - businesses that bring income into the charity and offer much-needed training and work experience for people with learning disabilities. Coming from a retail background at John Lewis and Land Securities, I am passionate about customer service and raising awareness about hidden disabilities as well as learning disabilities.

Joy Carter

Professor Joy Carter, CBE, is an academic with research based in Geochemistry and Health and was a former President of the international society in her field. Professor Carter is the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Winchester. She is current Chair of Guild HE, and for many years served on the Universities UK Board. Professor Carter currently chairs three further national bodies, The Church of England's Steering Group for their Foundation for Educational Leadership, Supporting Professionalism in Admissions Steering Group (SPA) and the Governing Body of a national sport (England Squash). She is a former Chair of the Cathedrals Group of Universities. As an ambassador for higher level skills and vocational learning, she chaired the University Vocational Awards Council (UVAC) for six years. Professor Carter is a Board member of the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). In 2013, Professor Carter was invited to become a representative of the Lord Lieutenant and is now a Deputy Lieutenant for the county of Hampshire. Professor Carter is passionate about all aspects of equality and has particular interests in widening participation, sustainability and animal welfare.

Martin Callaghan

  • Director of London Underground
Martin Callaghan was formerly a director of London Underground and a corporate finance partner at PwC. His main areas of expertise are financial and commercial. He has wide corporate governance experience as a non-executive in both private and public sectors, particularly in education, as a Board chair, and on finance and audit committees. He has a particular interest in developing employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities. As a governor of a special school, I was very aware of the challenges faced by young people with learning difficulties establishing themselves in their adult lives, so I was delighted to join Minstead with its person-centred ethos and diversity of support.

I first came across the Minstead Trust when I became a volunteer at Hanger Farm Arts Centre. On learning about the wider work of the Trust I was truly inspired by the positive and kind approach; empowering and nurturing each individual, but also creating a collective voice for those involved. It is a privilege to now be involved as a Trustee.

Tim Selwood

Tim Selwood was the founder Trustee at the Minstead Trust and is now our Ambassador. I am a retired solicitor having combined self-supporting ordained ministry in the C of E with a career in ‘crime' for many years. Since my retirement, I have continued to be a member of the team ministry in Winchester.

Travis Musselwhite

  • Travis Is Director of Care and Support Services and Has Been With Minstead Trust since 2015.
He has held a number of care roles including Registered Manager, Regional Lead Trainer and Senior Care Manager supporting multiple services/schools and children's homes. Travis has also worked as a training consultant specialising in safeguarding; TeamTeach, Autism awareness and preparations for CQC and Ofsted Inspections. Travis holds a range of Care qualifications including Diploma in Health and Social Care; NSPCC Trainer in Safeguarding and Advanced Team Teach trainer. Prior to working in the Care Sector, Travis was the Founder and Director of the Ocean Youth Trust South - a charity that provided sailing experiences for disadvantaged young people. Travis is Director of Care and Support Services and has been with Minstead Trust since 2015.
