Iowa Department of Education oversees and partners with Iowa's Area Education Agencies (AEAs) and school districts to ensure all children with disabilities are provided early intervention and special education services at no cost to the family. AEA staff across the state partner with families and district staff to identify children with disabilities and to develop quality service plans to meet the unique needs of students and their families.
