JHS - Key Persons
Clint Layng graduated from Snake River High School in Blackfoot, Idaho in 1993. He then attended Eastern Oregon University where he played football and received his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. He was the defensive backs coach at Blackfoot High School in 1999 before finishing his Education Certification from the University of Montana Western. He then moved to Sheridan, Montana where he coached boys' basketball and football for 9 years and taught weight training and P.E. He met his wife Sarah while in Sheridan. He and Sarah moved to Boulder in 2012 where he was the Head Boys' Basketball Coach for 8 years and has been the head Football Coach since that time. Mr. Layng teaches Weight Training and Driver's ED at Jefferson High School. He and his wife Sarah have 3 daughters MacKenzie 16, Brianna 13, and Parker 12.
Sarah Layng received her Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Montana in 2003 and began teaching at Sheridan High School, Sheridan, MT in Business & Information Technology education. While in Sheridan, she met her husband, Clint, where they married and stayed to begin their educational journey through teaching and coaching while raising their family for nine years. Sarah now resides, teaches and coaches in her hometown of Boulder at Jefferson High School where she graduated in 1992. Sarah holds a BA of Arts Degree in Accounting from Carroll College and is certified to teach in Business & Information Technology as well as Library/Media. She is currently the head boys & girls' track & field coach as well as Jefferson's Athletic Director, Librarian & Yearbook Advisor.
Sarah is married to Clint Layng and has three daughters. Two currently attend Jefferson High School and one attends the University of Providence. Her family also includes her Golden Retriever, Kobe, Black Lab, Bailey and beloved cat, Beluga. Hobbies include traveling, exercising (jogging, walking, hiking, weightlifting), reading, and most importantly spending time with family.
