MACROMAN PROJECT

The MACROMAN Project is an EPA funded project focused on assessing and monitoring various macroalgal blooms around Ireland. The main aims of this project is to understand the ecological and physical characteristics of bloom-forming species, and their impacts on factors such as water quality, biodiversity and human health... The MACROMAN Project aims to understand the mechanisms behind macroalgal blooms in order to develop appropriate management tools... We believe that learning about our environment through scientific research shouldn't stay just within universities. We are developing outreach resources and social media content to communicate our results to schools and the general public.
