Dr. Melissa Kenney

Dr. Melissa Kenney is originally from Richmond, Virginia. She moved to Pennsylvania to attend Villanova University, where she earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Biology. Her Master's Thesis focused on immunology, and she considered doing research full time, but ultimately decided to follow her dream of being a veterinarian. She attended Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton, Massachusetts. After graduation, she completed a one year rotating small animal internship at VCA South Shore Weymouth. She likes seeing the wide variety of cases that general practice has to offer. When not at work, Dr. Kenney enjoys spending time with her husband and their goldendoodle, Archie. Although Archie loves lazy days cuddling on the couch, he also likes to join Dr. Kenney on runs and hikes if the weather is nice. They also enjoy traveling, visiting breweries, and watching Villanova basketball.

Dr. Patricia Cairns

A general practitioner at Norwell Veterinary Hospital since 1998, Dr. Patricia Cairns is originally from Glasgow, Scotland, she completed her undergraduate education at C.W. Post College and received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1985. She continued her education at Cornell University New York State College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Her professional interests include internal medicine, dentistry, soft-tissue surgery and dermatology. When she's not at the hospital, Dr. Cairns loves spending time outdoors and can usually be found hiking, kayaking, camping and skiing in the winter. She and her husband, Darren Baker, a biochemist, have three children, Cameron, Jacqui and Graeme. Their family also includes Darcy, a sweet mixed breed.

Heidi Sutcliffe

  • Veterinarian
Dr. Sutcliffe is a veterinarian at Norwell Veterinary Hospital, joining us in July 2011. She studied at the University of Delaware, receiving her undergraduate degree in 2006, and then went on to earn her DVM degree in 2010 from Atlantic Veterinary College (University of Prince Edward Island). She completed a 13 month internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Weymouth before joining our team. Dr. Sutcliffe is interested in internal medicine, senior pet wellness and exotic animal medicine. She has really enjoyed developing long term relationships with her clients and their companions! Outside of work, Dr. Sutcliffe enjoys hiking with her husband and their energetic rescue Jack Russell mix "Spunky"!

Katherine C. Horigan

Dr. KC Horigan joined our NVH family in 2015. She is a Scituate native who is thrilled to be back near her hometown! Dr. Horigan attended undergrad at Lafayette College, completed her Master's degree at the University of Vermont, and went on to attain her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University. Dr. Horigan's favorite part of veterinary medicine is the field of pain management; this often includes designing a plan to keep your arthritic pet comfortable as they continue to age. This passion lead to her recent certification in Veterinary Acupuncture and training in Laser Therapy. Her other interests include behavior, dermatology, surgery, and dentistry. Married to another vet, Dr. Horigan and her husband have found that their hearts have tripled in size since the birth of their tiny human. She also loves laughing, gardening, biking, pottery, and reading. Additionally, she enjoys spending her time with her rescue mutt Kiva and new pup named Mud! Dr. KC Horigan is so excited to meet you and your pets.

Maria Sullivan

Dr. Sullivan joined Norwell Veterinary Hospital in 2011. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2003 and then completed her veterinary studies at Tufts University, earning her DVM degree in 2010. Dr. Sullivan then moved to Brooklyn, New York, to complete a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Emergency and Referral group. Dr. Sullivan has known she wanted to be a veterinarian since childhood. She has been working in animal hospitals since she was in high school and was a veterinary technician for several years before attending veterinary school at Tufts. Dr. Sullivan's professional interests include management of complex chronic issues such as kidney disease, thyroid disease, autoimmune diseases, and diabetes. Dr Sullivan also has a strong interest in emergency and critical care as well as management of chronic pain in animals. In her spare time, Dr. Sullivan and her husband spend their time chasing around their three young children. Her family also includes their Labrador Luna, their cat Lollipop, and their KC Cavalier Spaniel Bones .

Tracey Kelleher

Dr. Kelleher has cared for pets at Norwell Veterinary Hospital since 1994. She completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University in 1983 and then continued her veterinary education at the Cornell University New York State College of Veterinary Medicine. She was awarded her DVM degree in 1987. Dr. Kelleher is particularly interested in dermatology, internal medicine, geriatric medicine and nutrition. She is very excited about using Norwell's Therapeutic Laser and looks forward to seeing her patients benefit from the extensive applications of photobiomodulation ranging from pain relief to wound healing. Dr. Kelleher enjoys working with her fabulous team at Norwell Veterinary Hospital and takes pride in being able to provide a high quality of care to her clients and patients. Outside of work, Dr. Kelleher stays fit by running, biking and hiking with her two Labs Georgie and Lily. She and her husband and two adult daughters also enjoy spending time together on the water in the summer and skiing in the winter. The newest members of the Kelleher family are two adorable cats named Maisey and Mackerel who were found abandoned as kittens and bottle fed by the staff at Norwell.
