Growing up surrounded by books I was an avid reader from an early age, which created a love affair with the written word, continuing long into adulthood. Ever since I can remember I have noticed errors in the texts I read, and there were many times when my mind would whirl trying to amend - or edit, as I now know it to be! - certain phrases or sentence structures, which I was convinced would work better and improve the text. As a creative writer myself I understand the importance of finding and using the correct words, and making sure the text is coming across in the best possible light. I am happiest reading or writing, and have always been enthusiastic about the English language, which I have channelled into my career as a proofreader and copy-editor...
