MUNCIE SAILING CLUB

Construction of the stream-fed Prairie Creek reservoir began in 1954. The reservoir and surrounding property are owned by the Indiana-American Water Co. and leased to the City of Muncie, who in turn subleases the harbor, land, and clubhouse to the Muncie Sailing Club. Under the terms of the agreement, the Muncie Park Department provides basic services such as lawn mowing, trash removal, and police protection.
