Amy Bader became a board member with SCASD at the end of 2015, and has three children in the school district. Amy grew up in eastern Pennsylvania and studied biology at Temple University, after which she pursued a degree in veterinary medicine at University of Pennsylvania. After several years out of state, she relocated to State College in 2009 with her husband Dov Bader when he joined Penn State Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Carline Crevecoeur joined the SCASD Board of Directors in December 2021. She is a community volunteer, educator and retired OB-GYN. Crevecoeur's community involvement includes serving as a physician volunteer for Centre Volunteers in Medicine and as president of the Centre County CPSL summer swim league. She has sat on the WPSU volunteer board and sponsored programs including "The Seedlings: Finding Your Roots," and "Health Minute." With her parents and six siblings, Crevecoeur immigrated to the United States from Haiti in 1968. Dr. Crevecoeur earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from St. John's University and her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical School. State High librarian Cathi Fuhrman has received the 2024 American Association of School Librarians' Intellectual Freedom Award. Since 1982, the award has annually gone to individuals who uphold the intellectual freedom principles set forth by the AASL and the American Library Association.

Dan Kolbe joined the SCASD Board of Directors in 2023. He was born and raised in Philipsburg, PA. He and his husband Doug are the parents of a son who attends State College. Kolbe works in business development. One of his primary inspirations to run for school board is not only a desire to serve the community, but to create more spaces of representation for families like his in our elected bodies. Deborah Anderson joined the SCASD Board of Directors in December 2021. She is a former college professor and an active parent volunteer in the school district. She has lived in the State College area since 2009 and most recently taught in Penn State's School of Labor and Employment Relations. Dr. Anderson received a bachelor's degree from Penn State in 1993 and Ph.D. in labor economics from Cornell University in 1998. In addition to teaching at Penn State, she has been an assistant professor of economics at the University of New Mexico, visiting assistant professor of industrial and labor relations at Cornell and assistant professor of educational leadership at the University of Arizona. Dr. Aaron Miller joined the SCASD Board of Directors in 2023. He is an Associate Teaching Professor in Human Development and Family Studies at Penn State and has been teaching since 2016. He teaches courses on a range of topics including lifespan development, childhood, adolescence, adulthood and aging, family demography, and human services administration. Aaron completed undergraduate and graduate degrees with the Human Development and Family Studies department, culminating in a PhD in 2019. Dr. Anne Demo joined the SCASD Board of Directors in 2023. After earning her doctorate at Penn State in the 1990s, Dr. Anne Demo taught at Vanderbilt and Syracuse universities. She returned to Penn State in 2015 to become a faculty member in the Department of Communications Arts and Science. A former Penn State professor and paraprofessional in the State College Area School District, Dr. Demo is currently a student services associate in the School of International Affairs at Penn State. Gretchen Brandt has been a member of the SCASD Board of Directors since December 2015. Gretchen grew up in Denver, Colorado where she attended The University of Colorado at Boulder majoring in International Affairs and Germanic Studies. She then went on to receive a Masters in Public Administration at Central Michigan University and did Phd work in Political Science at Penn State in American Politics. Gretchen has worked at the local government level in Michigan writing grants and has two children in the district at Easterly Parkway. Jacqueline Huff joined the SCASD Board of Directors in December 2021. She is a former high school math teacher and current assistant teaching professor in Penn State's College of Engineering. Jackie has also volunteered in education advocacy for five years. Peter Buck joined the SCASD Board of Directors in December 2021. Over the last 20 years, he has taught in secondary schools and higher education. At Penn State, he leads system-wide educational and sustainability initiatives. He was elected to the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors in 2015. Over the last six years he has served in the Centre Region Council of Governments, the Spring Creek Watershed Commission, as vice-chair of the regional Climate Action and Adaptation Planning Technical Advisory Working Group and Chair of the intergovernmental Solar Power Purchase Agreement Working Group. Additionally, he is President for the Penns Valley Conservation Association, President-Elect of the Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium, and serves on the Board of the Penns Woods Music Festival. Dr. Buck earned his Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Policy from Penn State in 2015.
