After graduating from USC with a Master's degree in Business Accounting, Brett joined the successful real estate team of Charles Pence, John Hathorn and Loraine Silver. With over 60 combined years of real estate experience on the Westside of Los Angeles the team is a powerhouse in the industry.
Consistently a top-producing associate, Brett attributes his success to the invaluable experience of watching, listening and working with his fellow partners. As a leader within the Pence Hathorn Silver team Brett is a mentor to associates, while consistently providing excellent service his A-level client list. His negotiating style and marketing approach leads to success in transactions, while his attentiveness to clients has led to continued success in the industry. Because of this, his clients are loyal. Brett believes a personal connection with clients is paramount to his, and their, success. As a result, much of his business is due to past client referrals.
Brett is married and has two sons and a daughter. He lives in Brentwood and recently oversaw the construction of their new family home. Esther Hickman is a Listing and Buyer's agent with Pence Hathorn Silver at Compass, accredited as the #1 team in Santa Monica. The team is consistently ranked both nationally and in California among the top real estate professionals. Esther is a Los Angeles native who grew up in Malibu went to Santa Monica High School and earned a Bachelor in Fine Arts from UCLA. She started her career in real estate in 2005 in New York City, as a licensed real estate agent representing several full-service luxury buildings in Manhattan. Hailey Collins grew up in the luxury real estate world. As a child, she enjoyed getting small assignments from her aunt, one of Florida's top brokers/owners. Her love of travel was born then as well, gradually giving her a discerning eye for culture, architecture and people. Hailey left home to attend the University of Colorado, where she earned a BA in Communications and honed the marketing skills she'd later use as an agent. After graduation, there was one more stop: a New York publishing career with the luxury magazine DEPARTURES, including its Home + Design magazine. As she worked with top designers, architects and upscale residential realtors, she sharpened her skills in strategizing, creating and writing marketing materials. But a growing desire to work directly with people was drawing Hailey back to her roots. "The connection you have with your clients is what led me back to real estate," she says. "Being able to help someone make a huge life decision and seeing them so happy is beyond fulfilling." Hailey returned to Florida for a "freshman year" at her aunt's firm. Then she headed to the place she'd always wanted to live: California. Today, Hailey brings an incomparable array of powerful skills to her buyers and sellers from the coast to the canyons. John attended Santa Monica College as a music major before transferring to and graduating from the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. Though the guitar is still his muse, John has been happily devoted to his wife Nancy (another Venice High School Graduate) for 33 years and, together, they have raised three terrific sons - one of whom is now working in the real estate business. Currently, John supports various programs and charities including the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, The Boys and Girls Club, LA Family Housing, One Voice and The Salvation Army. Additionally, he has served as director of the L.A. Board of Realtors, served on the board of directors for the Santa Monica Symphony Orchestra, and studied business management at USC.
Morgan Hathorn grew up in the real estate business. His father is a founding partner of two of the most productive companies in the history of Westside real estate. Since his early years, Morgan has been exposed to luxury residential real estate sales, marketing, new construction development, renovating, and reselling properties throughout Los Angeles.
His passion and familiarity of the real estate business has evolved into pursuing his own career in sales and marketing of luxury properties. Morgan's dedication to the real estate industry combined with his passion for helping others has destined him for success.
After receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Business Entrepreneurship from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Morgan returned to Los Angeles to establish himself as a full-time real estate agent. Shann Silver is an Associate Partner at Compass and a key member of the nationally ranked Pence Hathorn Silver team, a name that is synonymous with Santa Monica real estate. While born in South Africa, Shann grew up on the sparkling Malibu coast. She offers an intimate knowledge of L.A.'s varied micro-markets and, with ten years of real estate practice, has an accomplished acumen in brokering transactions and negotiating for buyers and sellers.
With both her mother and brother as mentors, Shann joined the Pence Hathorn Silver team in 2010. With real estate being a part of her upbringing, she was always well-acquainted with the practice and believes she was destined to share the same passion and success as her family.
