A working group comprised of 10 organizations dedicated to advancing the study and knowledge of vision research joined together to launch scEYEnce, a campaign that aims to educate the broader public about the crucial importance of vision research... The scEYEnce campaign seeks to educate the public, the media, policymakers and other key stakeholders about the importance of vision research. By creating broader awareness, we hope that all of us will recognize the important role that vision - and conversely vision loss - plays in our daily lives and continue to build support for this crucial area of research... AEVR emphasizes that National Eye Institute-funded research to save/restore vision has served to reduce healthcare costs, increase productivity, maintain independence, and improve the quality of life for all Americans.
