Professor Anita Kocsis is Director of Design Factory Melbourne, Swinburne University, Melbourne, an interdisciplinary experimental co creation lab, is one of the three core founders of the 30+ international Design Factory Global Network. Anita is a champion of the lab as a model that integrates diverse teams at the interstices between disciplines to work on the big challenges beyond the scope of a single discipline or area of research practice. Kocsis' collaborations include Aalto Design Factory, IdeaSquare CERN, Nandin, Innovation Precinct, ANSTO and Arena2036, University of Stuttgart.
Anita's human-first, commercial and academic design and research is implemented in new products, prototypes, and experiences across diverse sectors; astrophysics, arts, academia, and health, including a start up in the museum sector at EPFL Lausanne, as Innovation Fellow at Australian Nuclear Scientific Organisation and member of the Experience Research Society.
Kocsis works at the intersection of academia and industry, spanning the creative industries, design, technology, science, and health for transdisciplinary innovation. Her national and international collaborations are academic and entrepreneurial, where she co-founded a Swiss start-up: muse-visitor experience framework and tool for cultural institutions.
Anita is the driving force behind the DFM brand, dfm.org.au as an exemplar at the nexus of learning and research for future global changemakers. She advises on Innovation practices and standards, and is a core member for ISO Innovation Management, Innovation Standards, Standards Australia and recently appointed to the Global Working group 2, Innovation Terminology, terms, and definitions.
Kocsis recently has fostered a new design factory node in partnership with Nandin, Innovation precinct, Australian Nuclear Scientific Technology Organisation (ANSTO), linking IdeaSquare CERN, focusing on applied innovation for deep technology transfer at the nexus of learning and research. As Innovation Fellow at ANSTO this international collaboration drives the impetus for creativity and design innovation for meaningful deep science and tech translation.

Dr Belinda Barnet is Senior Lecturer in Media at Swinburne with research interests in digital cultures, social media, data privacy, platform regulation and the history of digital media. She welcomes applications from prospective PhD students working on topics in digital media.
Alongside her research work, Dr Barnet has worked as Service Delivery Manager (Wireless Content Services) for Ericsson Australia. She is the author of "Memory Machines: the Evolution of Hypertext" (Anthem Press UK, 2013).

Dr Chamila Perera holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Commerce Degree from University of Kobe, Japan. She won the most prestigious Mombushogaku scholarship from the Japanese Government followed by the Melbourne Business School Doctoral Research Scholarship. She published several research papers in ABDC ranked Journals and, won several best paper awards for sustainability research projects. She also won Swinburne's Vice Chancellor award and the Australian Deans Council award for her contribution in enhancing carbon literacy among the university networks. Her research interests are in Consumer Culture, Climate Change related Behaviour, Sustainability, Environmentalism, Minimalistic lifestyles, Corporate Social Responsibility, Research methodological issues and Pedagogy. She has teaching experience in several study areas including Consumer Behaviour, Marketing Research, Marketing Management, Strategic Marketing, Product and Service Innovations, International Marketing, Marketing Decision Analysis, Customer Relationship Management, and Emarketing.

Professor Karen Hapgood is an experienced and respected executive leader, with an engineering and STEM background.
Professor Karen Hapgood is an experienced and respected executive leader, who leads the development and implementation of Swinburne's Research strategy and builds impactful research partnerships to further Swinburne's research nationally and globally. Her career has included over seven years of industry experience in Australia and the United States, followed by 15 years of leadership roles in the higher education sector, all based around a common thread of manufacturing and STEM.
Prior to joining Swinburne, Karen was the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science Engineering and Built Environment and Dean of Engineering at Deakin University. Karen is a renowned researcher in the fields of chemical engineering and pharmaceutical manufacturing, a Fellow of ATSE, IChemE, RACI and Engineers Australia, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion in research, engineering and STEM.
