Chad is a partner with Thompson Addison, pllc, emphasizing Family Law, including; Divorce, Child Custody, Child Support, Modification, Contempt and Appeals, handling cases in Chancery Courts throughout Mississippi and supervises the firm's expanding Adoption practice. Chad serves as a Parent Defense Training and Technical Assistance Resource Counsel for the Mississippi Office of State Public Defender providing training and technical assistance to trial-level parent defenders in Youth Courts and handles indigent appeals from Youth Courts. Since 2017, Chad has also served as a Parent Defense Attorney for Hinds County Youth Court. Chad earned his Doctrine of Jurisprudence from Mississippi College School of Law in 2015, where he served as President of the Family Law Society and a Student Attorney in the Adoption Clinic. He also served as an Adjunct Professor in Paralegal Studies at Hinds Community College.

Matthew Thompson

A graduate of MC Law, Matthew has been practicing for over 18 years, and is widely known to his colleagues and clients as the "BowTieLawyer." In addition to serving Thompson Addison clients, Matthew is the author of Mississippi Divorce, Alimony and Child Custody, with forms, an adjunct professor at MC Law, and is a frequent speaker at CLEs throughout the state. Matthew is the past president of the Madison County Bar, active in the Capital Area Bar, serves on the Board with Mississippi Legal Services Corporation, past-board member of the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project, and past-trustee for Madison Ridgeland Academy. Matthew has been selected to the Mississippi Bar's Leadership forum, Leadership Greater Jackson, named a 2018 Leader in the Law, Super Lawyer & Rising Stars by SuperLawyers, and AV Preeminent rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell. Matthew grew up in the sprawling landscape of the Mississippi Delta and the suburban simplicities of Madison, which he now calls home with his wife, Karen, and two children. Matthew has coached youth sports; t-ball, baseball, soccer & softball, serves as scoutmaster, volunteers with Delta Grace and Habitat for Humanity, and enjoys spending time doing outdoor activities with his family. Matthew Thompson and Robert Addison established Thompson Addison in 2020 (after working together as co-counsel, their unique areas of practice provided complementary benefits for their clients). Robert is known as one of the last "pure litigators" and tried to verdict hundreds of cases throughout state and federal courts in the Southeast. Robert is also a nationally recognized speaker on the science of litigation. In his spare time, Robert enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, playing the violin, raising cutting horses, and teaching as a certified firearms instructor. He and his wife, Cindy, make their home in a mighty nice barn in Canton, Mississippi where he can occasionally be overheard saying, "To make a small fortune in the horse business you must start with a large one." With over 45 years of trial experience in complex litigation, Robert offers a deep reservoir of knowledge in his service to our clients and our firm, not to mention a hefty assortment of professional awards and recognitions. While he'd rather be astride one of his cutting horses than gussied up in a suit to accept another award, his trophy shelf includes: Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers (Top 50 in Mississippi), AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, and America's Top 100 High Stakes Litigators, among many others.
