Abby Jury

Abby's extensive swimming career began in high school, where she competed in Breaststroke, Backstroke, the 200-meter Individual Medley, and the Individual Medley Relay. During this time, she qualified for Nationals, Regional, Sectionals, and State. She also competed in lifeguard competitions, both locally and out of state. Abby continued swimming throughout college and went on to compete in triathlons, an Ironman, and numerous other swimming competitions across the nation. Abby's love of swimming led her to pursue a career in instructing, where she accepted a position as an assistant coach for a community swim team. She later became an assistant coach working with a Special Olympics swim team. Abby has several years of experience working as an Elite Swim Instructor. She instructs both children and adults at all levels. Her passion is to inspire anyone that wants to improve their abilities, whether that is being competitive on a swim team or learning lifesaving skills. She hopes to be there every step of the way. Alex Haizel

Alex joins the WSC Tennis Team from Oak Lawn Racquet Club, where he worked for over 4 years. He works with players of all ages and skill levels and enjoys helping them further develop their tennis game. As a junior player, Alex achieved a USTA ranking in the top 10 for the 18's age division in Chicago. He attended Marist High School in Chicago, where he played Varsity #1 singles all four years, qualifying for the Illinois State Tournament every year and finishing as high as top 16. Alex competed on the University of St. Francis Men's Tennis Team in Joliet, Illinois. In doubles, in 2014 and 2015 he qualified for the NAIA national championships and finished top 8 nationally among all NAIA teams. Alex is looking forward to sharing his love and expertise of the game with WSC players. Bill joins the WSC tennis team after 14 years at the Homewood-Flossmoor Racquet and Fitness Club, where he served as the league and lesson coordinator, tournament director and referee. He is an award-winning USTA official, named the CTUC 2015 Roving Official of the Year and the CTUC 2019 Chair Umpire of the Year. A lifelong learner of tennis, Bill earned the 2011 Midwest USPTA Midwest Education of the Year award. At HFR&FC, Bill specialized in teaching youth tennis, which includes 10 and under through high school players. He also teaches adult beginners through intermediates. Camille Pye

Camille Pye began her yoga journey in 2014 by taking yoga classes offered in the Recreation Center at Western Illinois University. Since then, her practice has deepened to provide flexibility both physically and mentally. Like many individuals existing in the corporate world, Yoga was a means to slow down and unwind after a fast paced day working in Chicago and to combat anxiety. During the pandemic she took the leap and completed her teachers training after being awarded a BIPOC scholarship for Yogi's of diverse backgrounds. She was very eager to apply her teachings from the computer screen to the studio. She wishes to aid her students in bringing mindfulness to their everyday life, and aiding in their journey to create depth in their practices by balancing mind, body, and spirit. Carrie Provost comes to the Sport Center with an eclectic resume - her primary career is as an orchestra conductor and violinist in the DuPage Symphony Orchestra. Danilo grew up playing tennis in the western suburbs, and played on the Maine South High School Varsity team for all 4 years. In 2017, he finished 2nd in the IHSA State Tournament. He was ranked #1 in the USTA Chicago District in Boys 18 and qualified for the Kalamazoo Nationals in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Danilo competed on the Ball State University Division 1 Men's team and earned NCAA First Team Honors in 2021 and 2022. He has experience teaching players of all ages, from 10 & under through adults and has coached at both the Park Ridge Park District and the Park Ridge Country Club. Dave Garratt

Dave is a lifelong tennis player. He grew up on the East Coast where he played junior tournaments and captained his High School and College tennis teams. While in college, Dave taught tennis over the summers at various clubs in Connecticut, providing private and group lessons. After a 40 year business career, he jumped back into the competitive tennis arena. In 2019 he was a member of the US Gordon Trophy team that beat Canada, as well as the USTA 55+ Men's Doubles 9.0 team that won the National Championship in Surprise, AZ. He continues to play competitively and in 2023 he nationally ranked in singles and doubles in the USTA 65+ age division. In 2023, he won a silver medal in doubles at the Senior Games in Pitttsburgh, PA. Dave is also a member of the USIC (ie, International Tennis Club). He enjoys working with players of all ages, especially juniors and adults that are looking to play local and national tournaments. At the club since 2023.

I began swimming prior to walking. My journey being on a swim team started when I was just 5 years old. I competed on a local team and went to Junior Olympics and Nationals twice a year by age 9, placing first in several events. I would qualify for Nationals in almost all events. My best events were 100 & 200 Breaststroke and 200 & 400 Individual Medley. I went to the US Open at the age of 13, in the 100 & 200 Breaststroke. I continued swimming in college, then went onto Chicago Triathlons, Ironman, and Warrior Dash yearly events for St. Jude Children's Hospital. I was the Head Swim Coach at Health Track Sport Center for 4 years. I also taught at the park district and continued private lessons for many years. I am happy to teach others and get them excited in the pool in learning new techniques; to improve their skills for personal goals or to improve their skills professionally. I have two children of my own. They also have been swimming since before learning to walk. I know swimming is a valuable skill for anyone to learn and to succeed in their future endeavors. Jonathan grew up in Oak Park, is a life-long tennis player and was originally a tennis professional. Six years ago he picked up a pickleball paddle and hasn't put it down since. This also gave Jonathan a better understanding of how to coach tennis players transitioning to pickleball. He continued to study and train and eventually became a tournament player. The beautiful flow reminded her of her days as ballet dancer. Katie has been teaching ballet and Pilates for 20 years and yoga has helped her to remain strong and flexible both in mind and body. Leila was a top junior tennis player and competed internationally before receiving a full scholarship to play Division 1 tennis at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. With the rise of pickleball in the Chicago area, she fell in love with the game and quickly became a 5.0 level player. Leila is part of the Professional Pickleball Registry's exclusive group of pickleball coach clinicians and travels the Chicagoland area, providing pickleball coaching education and conducting coach certification workshops. She is a PPR certified professional and conducts workshops, clinics and private lessons for all levels. Leila has the expertise to take players from beginner through 4.0+ to the next level. Leslie Krueger has always had a passion for fitness, especially after competing in multiple sports, including collegiate softball. Leslie has also completed 3 sprint triathlons and 4 half-marathons and juggles being a mom of three children. After leaving a desk job in 2019, Leslie decided it was time to bring her passion for fitness to others. Leslie is certified in AFAA and CPR/AED. She started at WSC as a Group Ex Instructor early 2020, and she joined the ZONE360 team June 2020. She moved 6 years ago to the USA and fell in love teaching tennis as a coach at Wheaton North High School. As a 4.5 level player, she continues to compete in several USTA leagues, and won the 2019 Illinois State and Midwest Regional women's doubles combo championships. Linda is certified by the Professional Tennis Registry and enjoys teaching both youth and adults alike. Lisa Doherty

Lisane Swartwood

Lisane joins the WSC team after coaching in Evansville, Indiana for over 30 years and brings a wealth of experience to our tennis program. She competed at the collegiate level for Ferris State University, where she earned a degree in Professional Tennis Management and Marketing. In addition, Lisane is a PTR certified professional in 10 & under and adults, USTA High Performance certified, and Cardio Tennis Level 1 & 2 certified. She is a former National faculty coach for USTA Indiana, USTA Zonals coach, and University of Evansville Women's Tennis coach. She is a specialist in the Evolution Kids Tennis curriculum. Liz Huffman

Liz grew up playing tennis with her tennis coach father and she quickly developed a love for the sport. She played locally at Wheaton North and then North Central College. After spending a decade in luxury travel sales, Liz joined the WSC team. As the WSC Tennis Administrator, Liz coordinates multiple managerial processes for the tennis department and assists members with their daily tennis needs. Liz utilizes her organizational skills, her tennis knowledge and her familiarity with the WSC community to provide top service to our members. WSC is a family affair - her husband Eddie frequents the pickle ball courts and their two young children enjoy WSC childcare and the pool. Lori Mills

Lori oversees the WSC tennis program and a team of highly qualified tennis professionals. Lori is responsible for all aspects of the tennis area, including programming, staff hiring, training and supervision; maintenance of court areas, Pickleball, and creating the overall vision of WSC tennis. She is active in the Professional Tennis Registry, which is the international professional organization for the tennis industry. Lori was named PTR Illinois State Member of the Year in 2014, serves as a mentor in the PTR Mentorship Program, is a PTR Coach Developer, and is the PTR Midwest Regional Education Center Director. She is PTR certified in both 10 & Under and Adult Development, and is a certified Cardio Tennis Instructor and a USPTA certified professional. Maggie joins the WSC Tennis Team while also working as a Manager on Duty at the Wheaton Sport Center. Maggie was raised in Wheaton and has played tennis her whole life with family. She graduated from Grove City College (Pittsburgh, PA) in 2023 with Exercise Science and Nutrition degrees. During college, Maggie was a three-sport varsity athlete, earning her all-conference, team and school honors while playing Volleyball, Tennis and Track. She also worked as a student coach for varsity men's tennis and volleyball teams. Maggie is PTR Level 1 certified and loves working with all ages but has a passion for getting kids moving on the court. Among his on-court accomplishments, Mike has won multiple singles and doubles tournaments, including the USTA Mixed Doubles 8.0 National Championships and have coached players who have earned scholarships and advanced to Division I college competition. Molly played college tennis at Ball State during her Freshman year and then transferred to Taylor University where she played #1 singles and #1 doubles for all 3 seasons. Molly was named NAIA All-American and placed in top spots in several ITA tournaments. Prior to college, Molly was a competitive nationally ranked junior player, reaching Indiana's #1 spot in her age division several times.
