Aidan was as a Senior Researcher at the Ada Lovelace Institute, leading our Public Participation & Research team and projects.
At the Ada Lovelace Institute, Aidan ensured public voices and perspectives shaped data and AI policy and practice. He led work on projects including the Citizens' Biometrics Council, Who Cares What the Public Think?, and a UK-wide poll of public attitudes to AI in collaboration with the Alan Turing Institute.
Aidan has more than 6 years' experience conducting public attitudes and participatory research projects at the intersection of technology and society, on topics ranging from nuclear energy and health technology to web search engines and AI. He holds an MSc in Sociology from the London School of Economics and has previously held positions at Wellcome and Understanding Patient Data.

Ali Shah is a Global Principal Director of Accenture's efforts to ensure AI is a force for good, working in the interests of citizens and society. His expertise in AI, data ethics, privacy and regulation helps ensure Accenture and its clients can understand and address the challenges AI and emerging technologies present.
Prior to Accenture he was Head of Technology Policy at the UK Information Commissioner's Office, where he was accountable for emerging technology regulatory policy. His leadership and expertise focused on AI, data ethics, cross regulatory collaboration and investigations, privacy by design engineering, and award-winning work related to AI risk and Childrens safety online. Ali has also held roles at the BBC related to emerging technology strategy, engineering, innovation, and AI ethics.

Amba Kak is a leading technology policy strategist and researcher with over a decade of experience working in multiple regions and in roles across government, academia, and the nonprofit sector. Amba is Executive Director at AI Now and Senior Research Scientist at the Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute at Northeastern University. She currently serves as a Senior Advisor on AI at the Federal Trade Commission where she advises the regulatory agency on emerging technologies. Prior to AI Now, Amba was Global Policy Advisor at Mozilla, where she helped develop Mozilla's policy positions, and supported a multi-pronged campaign for strong data protection law in India and Kenya. She also serves on the Program & Strategy Committee for the Mozilla Foundation, where she advises the non-profit on its philanthropic and advocacy work.
Amba has been the recipient of the Google Policy Fellowship and the Mozilla Tech Policy Fellowship. She has published widely across academic journals and popular outlets, and her work has been featured in Nature, MIT Tech Review, Wired, among others. Trained as a lawyer, Amba received her BA LLB (Hons) from the National University of Juridical Sciences in India. She has a Masters in Law (BCL) and an MSc in the Social Science of the Internet at the University of Oxford, which she attended as a Rhodes Scholar.

Amelia Andersdotter is a specialist in mathematical statistics and business law who has worked at the intersection of technology, society and law since 2009.
Currently she is Director of Strategic Initiatives at Brussels-based CENTR, organizing European ccTLDs. She has been network equipment and internet protocol technical standards expert at UK-based human rights organisation ARTICLE19 and a Member of the European Parliament for the Pirate Party.
Through the Swedish NGO Dataskydd.net she operates the Webbkoll privacy check service for websites, aiming to facilitate better technical data protection measures for all.

Andrew Snell is a consultant in public and health and a doctor in emergency medicine, with a special interest in health system development, health intelligence, health equity and the prevention of noncommunicable diseases.
Andrew's current roles include an innovative joint appointment between Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, where he supports local health-system integration, population health-system development and the delivery of a hospital public-health strategy addressing health inequalities; technical support to the WHO Regional Office for Europe to help improve WHO support to and public health capacity in the 53 countries across the European Region; and a clinical role in the Emergency Department of Barnsley Hospital.
Andrew has a range of experience in public health, global health and emergency medicine roles in the UK and internationally, including UK roles in local and regional health systems; national advisory roles; global health roles with the WHO and the UK's DFID (now FCDO); and medical work in Nepal, South Africa, New Zealand and Uganda.

Andrew was an Associate Director at the Ada Lovelace Institute until March 2025, responsible for Ada's work addressing emerging technology and industry practice.
Andrew has spent the last decade working at the intersection of technology, law and society. Prior to joining Ada, he was an Ethics & Policy Researcher DeepMind, where he managed internal AI ethics initiatives and oversaw the company's network of external partnerships. Previously, he worked as a Legal Operations Specialist at Google where he developed and implemented platform moderation policies on areas such as data protection, hate speech, terrorist content and child safety.
Anna was a Senior Researcher at the Ada Lovelace Institute. Her most recent project focused on the procurement of AI in local government. Prior to this, Anna worked on the impacts of data-driven systems and AI on healthcare, and the broader societal implications of changes in health technology.
Anna has a background in journalism and research. Before joining the Ada Lovelace Institute she was a Senior Health Researcher/Writer at consumer group Which?, where she helped shape the organisation's consumer-facing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, led investigations into health inequalities and co-ordinated cross-organisational strategy on the protection of consumer data.

Arzoo recently joined Genomics England as the Ethics Lead for the Whole Genome Sequencing Programme in Newborns. Before this, she was a Researcher at the Nuffield Council on Bioethics where she worked as public dialogue project lead on the Genome Editing in Farmed Animals Inquiry. She also contributed to the Council's active response programme and diversity and inclusion agenda.
Arzoo has produced briefings on equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines and meat alternatives. She is also a Research Associate on the Qatar National Research Funded project: Genomics, Islamic Ethics, and Public Engagement.
Prior to joining the Council, Arzoo was Director at the Centre for Islam and Medicine and a Research Associate at the Office for Public Management. Arzoo is completing an MA in philosophy at King's College London, and graduated with a BA in Physics and an MPhil in Medieval Arabic Thought from the University of Oxford.

Ayça is a multidisciplinary researcher and a lawyer. She currently works as a postdoc researcher at the University of Edinburgh, where she also has a researcher co-lead role focusing on data protection and data ethics.
She also works as a consultant at the Digital Futures for Children centre, LSE (a joint research centre with 5Rights Foundation), working on generative AI, child rights, and Aİ and data use in education.
For her PhD, she conducted interdisciplinary research at the intersection of law, education, and human-computer interaction, focusing on data protection fairness and ethical data practices in AI-EdTech design. She received a PhD enrichment award from the Alan Turing Institute, where she worked with the Public Policy Children's Rights and AI team on child-centred AI projects, including mapping studies on legal frameworks relating to AI and children's rights with the Council of Europe.
Ayça has experience working as a consultant, adviser, and researcher at NGOs, international organisations, and research institutions focusing on Aİ-EdTech, responsible generative AI use in schools, data protection and human rights law. She also worked in different roles as a consultant focusing on gender equality, migration, AI governance, and data protection at UN Women for several years. Most recently, she worked as an evaluation researcher contributing to regional and corporate-level evaluations at UN Women Europe & Central Asia Regional Office.

Cami Rincon is a Senior Researcher at the Ada Lovelace Institute. Cami's work focuses on exploring the effectiveness of responsible AI and ethics and accountability practices, and demystifying emerging technologies.
Prior to joining Ada, Cami worked as Research Application Officer at The Alan Turing Institute, where they led the update and expansion of the UK Government's official public-sector guidance on AI ethics and safety. They contributed to academic publications, policy recommendations, educational programs and public participation research on AI ethics and governance. Cami's research into gender and AI has been published in the 24th ACM Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) and the MIT Press publication Feminist Designer, it has been developed into an educational course for UAL's Creative Computing Institute and selected for The New New Fellowship 2021.

Catherine is Head of Communications and Content at the Ada Lovelace Institute. In this role, she is responsible for building Ada's profile and enhancing the impact of the institute's work to our stakeholders and audiences.
Prior to joining Ada, Catherine was Head of Marketing and Communications at Working Families, the UK's national charity for working parents and carers. She has a decade of experience in communications, media, and public affairs, including working as a speechwriter in the Obama Administration and leading on pan-European communications at the Urban Land Institute. She holds a master's degree in media and strategic communications from The George Washington University.
Christine was a Senior Researcher at the Ada Lovelace Institute, focusing on AI and data governance.
Christine's background is in human rights law, particularly privacy and data protection, and she is currently pursuing a master's degree in political science.

Connor is Acting Head of EU and Global Governance at the Ada Lovelace Institute, responsible for leading and delivering Ada's influencing and engagement strategy on the governance and regulation of AI globally. From 2022-2025 he was European Public Policy Lead at Ada.
Prior to joining Ada, Connor worked in EU public affairs, where he led his team's work on the EU's AI Act and AI Liability Directive, while also working more broadly on EU data legislation. Besides this, Connor has worked in communications and analytical roles in an international organisation, a think tank, and a consultancy in his home city, Belfast.

Cristina is a Researcher at the Ada Lovelace Institute, focusing on EU Public Policy, specifically on EU and international governance and regulation proposals and AI accountability and risk management.
Cristina has a background in political science and AI Ethics and completed an MSt in AI Ethics and Society at the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining Ada, she was a Senior Researcher at the Digital Regulators Cooperation Forum, where she led a research project on the AI assurance market. Her research interests include AI standards, AI assurance, AI procurement and infusing meaningful public engagement in AI governance mechanisms.

Dame Julie Maxton is Chair of the Ada Lovelace Institute. She is also Executive Director of the Royal Society, the first woman to hold the post. In her role at the Royal Society, she has brought scientists and members of the judiciary together around areas of mutual interest, and particularly to make sure that the best possible scientific guidance is available to the courts.
Before taking up her position at the Royal Society in 2011, she was Registrar at the University of Oxford. She is an Honorary Fellow of University College Oxford, a Bencher of the Middle Temple, a Freeman of the Goldsmith's Company and a Board member of Sense about Science.
In the past she has also been a board member of the Alan Turing Institute, the Blavatnik School of Government in Oxford, Haberdasher Aske's School (Elstree), Engineering UK, Charities Aid Foundation and the Faraday Institute.
Originally trained as a barrister, she combined a career as a practising lawyer with that of an academic, holding senior academic positions, including Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Academic and other recognition she has received include a CBE (2017), DBE (2023), and Honorary Degrees from the Universities of Huddersfield, Warwick, Canterbury, Hull, Bristol and Brunel. She is the author of numerous articles concerned with trusts, equity, commercial and property law.
