Ana A. Betances-Julián is the Office Manager for America's Voice and America's Voice Education Fund. She was born in the Dominican Republic and currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia. Andrea Flores is the Digital Grassroots Organizer for America's Voice Education Fund and DHS Watch. She has done research on the overall Latinx community, covering topics such as immigration, race and ethnicity, education, sexual assault and abuse. She is very interested in understanding the issues within her community and how politics affects everyday life. She recently graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Chicanx-Latinx Studies and a Master's degree in Latin American Studies. David Torres is a Spanish-language Advisor at America's Voice and America's Voice Education Fund. David Torres was born and raised in Mexico City. He graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) where he studied journalism. Before joining America's Voice and America's Voice Education Fund, he worked for several Spanish-language media outlets in his country of origin and in the US, among them Al Día, from Dallas, Texas and La Opinión, the largest Spanish-language daily in the nation, based in Los Angeles, California. David worked as Latin American Editor for La Opinión and later as Front Page Editor. During his career, David has received several awards, including the Award of Excellence as editor, by the Society for News Design (SND) 22 nd edition in 2000. A native of Puerto Rico, Maribel is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus, with a major in public communications and a history minor. Before joining America's Voice and America's Voice Education Fund, she worked for La Opinión, the largest Spanish-language daily in the U.S. Maribel became La Opinión's first Washington, D.C. correspondent in 1993. Previously, she worked for the Associated Press, San Juan, Puerto Rico Bureau. During her career, Maribel has received numerous awards, including the 2007 Media Leadership Award from the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) for her coverage of the immigration debate in the U.S. Senate. Mario Carrillo is the Campaigns Manager for America's Voice. Prior to AV, Mario served as the communications director at Voto Latino, where he focused on organizational messaging and implemented a comprehensive communications strategy. In 2016, Mario's work helped the organization earn more than one billion media impressions during a critical election year, and he placed op-eds by Voto Latino influencers, including Wilmer Valderrama and Lila Downs, in key national and local media outlets. Before that, Mario worked as the communications manager for United We Dream. Mario was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and raised in El Paso, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Texas. Victoria Slatton obtained her J.D. from Pepperdine University and is a barred attorney in California. After law school she worked at the Department of Homeland Security where she obtained invaluable insights into how USCIS adjudicates immigration cases and the pressing need for agency reform. She left her position in the government shortly after the administration changed and started an immigration law firm where she represented clients directly and managed every aspect of the firm's logistics, including its online platforms. It was there that she developed a love of digital advertising and campaigns. Before joining America's Voice, she worked as the Digital Campaigns Coordinator at People For the American Way where she fine-tuned her skills in social media management, digital advertising, and various other tools for successful online organizing.
