Dr. Garrett Webster

Dr. Garrett Webster is a board certified ophthalmologist and a graduate from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston, TX at one of the largest medical centers in the world. After working in a large, busy practice in South Georgia, Dr. Webster has come back to Beaufort - growing up fishing/shrimping the coast and where he and his wife were married in 2014. Dr. Webster is trained in comprehensive ophthalmology, specializing in cataract surgery, including laser assisted cataract surgery and premium lenses. Recently, he and his surgical staff at Beaufort Memorial Hospital put in Beaufort's first ever Extended Depth of Focus Lens "Vivity IOL" from Alcon - the newest technology available for patients. He is also certified in lasik surgery. Dr. Webster grew up in Jackson, SC and is a proud Gamecock alum. He also enjoys many hobbies such as beekeeping, citrus grafting and growing, fishing/shrimping, hunting and managing livestock. Dr. Webster is married to his wife Sydney, has two beautiful daughters, and a new baby boy born in March 2021.

Dr. Michael Nelson

Dr. Nelson hails from the Lonestar State of Texas. Graduating with honors, he completed his doctorate at the University of Houston. His experience includes his time within the Dallas Metroplex serving the indigent population and working with traumatic brain injury patients at the local trauma centers. Dr. Nelson joined the armed forces and spent the last few years as a Naval Officer in Beaufort, SC. He proudly served the Marine Recruits, Pilots and Active-Duty personnel contributing directly to the medical readiness of our armed forces. Although he may not look it, Dr. Nelson is the proud parent of 7 children! His wife is a cosmetologist and regency romance novelist. When not in clinic, you may find him and his wife buried beneath laundry or cheering from the sidelines as their kids compete in local sports.

Dr. Nicole Sopp

Dr. Nicole Sopp is a native of Savannah, GA and graduate of the University of Georgia. She completed her doctorate at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL and a Primary Care / Ocular Disease Residency at the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and of the Scleral Lens Education Society. She began her professional career on faculty at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine until moving to Boston with her husband in 2014. While in Boston, she served as a Lead Optometrist in the Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates healthcare system. Dr. Sopp has extensive experience in a comanagement clinical setting with optometry and ophthalmology. She specializes in prescribing customized eyeglasses and contact lenses to maximize vision. She is also a specialist in the fitting of specialty contact lenses, including scleral lenses, for diseased and injured corneas. She also has immense experience in cataract post-operative care. Dr. Sopp is thrilled to be back practicing in the Lowcountry. When not in the office she enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian, son, Bennett, and daughters, Austyn and Vienna as well as cheering on the DAWGS!

Dr. Perin W. Diana

Dr. Perin W. Diana is a is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist in Port Royal, South Carolina and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area. Dr. Diana holds medical licenses in both South Carolina and Connecticut. He has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. Diana is married with 3 children.
