Alessandro Leipold

Alessandro Leipold (Sandro) has had an extensive career in international economics and finance, centered in banking and international organizations - notably the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund, where he was Acting Director of the European Department upon his departure at end-2008. In that capacity, he led the Fund's work in Europe during the outbreak of the global financial crisis in 2007-08, and the Fund's programs in Hungary, Ukraine, Latvia and Iceland. Sandro is currently Chief Economist at the Lisbon Council, a Brussels-based think tank, and a Senior Fellow at LUISS University School of European Political Economy in Rome. He has written widely, including as a columnist for Il Sole 24 Ore, and given numerous presentations on international financial issues. Over the last years, Sandro's efforts have largely concentrated on bringing a Clubhouse to Washington DC, as a Board member of Capital Clubhouse.

Amber Weber

Amber Weber is a social service worker for the state of Utah with more than 20 years of professional experience working with people with mental illness. Ms. Weber earned her BSW in Social Work from the University of Utah. She was the Associate Director for five years and acted as the interim Executive Director twice in her tenure at Alliance House in Salt Lake City. Prior to that, she worked for eight years as the Alliance House Transitional Employment coordinator and has trained staff and Clubhouse members from over 30 Clubhouses internationally through the comprehensive colleague training program at Alliance House. Since 2010, Amber has been a member of the Clubhouse International faculty, accrediting and consulting with Clubhouses worldwide to provide fully realized evidence-based Clubhouse Model approaches. She was recruited as the Executive Director in July 2019 by the Summit County Clubhouse Board of Directors to establish the newest Clubhouse in Utah, Summit County Clubhouse, in Park City, Utah Amber is very excited for her next adventure with Clubhouse International as the Employment Program Officer.

Anette Hoegh Goelet - Treasurer

Anette was brought up in Norway. She studied Economic History and Political Science at Cambridge University in England, and Columbia University in New York City. She is a yoga therapist, certified by the International Association for Yoga Therapists, with her own practice in Reisterstown, Maryland. Since 1988, Anette has been a philanthropist, serving on numerous boards devoting her time to education and mental health. Anette served on the Board of Fountain House from 1988-2008, and served as the Chairman of the Fountain House board from 1996-99. She has been on the board of Clubhouse International since its inception, and served as Chairman of the Clubhouse International board from 2000-2005. She also was a founding board member of B'More Clubhouse in Baltimore Maryland. Anette lives in Maryland. She is married with 3 grown-up children.

Anita Brix Lambaek

Anita Brix Lambaek has been on the staff of Clubhouse International since October 2015. Anita works closely with the European Clubhouses to strengthen their quality through Accreditation. Before joining Clubhouse International, Anita started her work with Clubhouses back in 2007, when she was hired as a staff member in Kildehuset- Fountain House in Aalborg. In 2010 she became involved with the start-up of a Clubhouse in Frederikshavn, Denmark in 2010 and became Director of the Clubhouse in 2012. Anita has been involved with the Danish Clubhouse Coalition as a board member since 2011. Anita holds an M.A degree in Public Administration from Aalborg University and a B.A in Nutrition and Health from Aarhus University. Anita is married and she and her husband have three children. They enjoy spending time with their small breed of Icelandic Horses.

Beatrice Bergamasco

Beatrice Bergamasco was born in Italy, and is still based there today, but has lived in Zimbabwe, the U.S. and Argentina. She holds a Master's degree in International Business from the American University in Washington D.C. Deeply affected when her older brother was diagnosed with mental illness in their teens, she was inspired to become an advocate for the rights of people who suffer from mental health illnesses. Beatrice was a founding member of the Italian association Pogetto Itaco in Milan in 1988. Since then she has occupied the role either of President and Board Member in Milan, Florence, Rome and Palermo and provided support for other Clubhouses throughout Europe. Today, there are 11 Italian associations working under the umbrella organization of Pogetto Itaco. Beatrice continues to spread the word about the Clubhouse model and founded the first two Clubhouses in Argentina and one in Mexico. She also introduced and disseminated the Family-to-Family courses by NAMI in Italy. A keen environmentalist, she is president of a foundation in Uruguay, Amigos de las Lagunas Costeras (Friends of the Coastal Lagoons). With strong ties in Argentina she continues to serve as an Honorary Board member of the Ospedale Italiano (Italian Hospital) in Buenos Aires. Her daily work is to administrate her family's real estate interests. She loves outdoor sports and travelling and spends time whenever she can with a daughter and a son living in the U.S. and Argentina respectively. Beatrice is committed to changing how mental health is perceived today and to fight for the rights of people who suffer from it, their caregivers and families.

Dr. Jeffrey Geller

Dr. Jeffrey Geller, M.D., M.P.H., is Professor of Psychiatry and Director of Public Sector Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. His research interests include pathological fire-setting in adults; involuntary outpatient treatment (AOT); assessment, treatment planning and delivery of treatment services systems in mental health care; the Americans with Disabilities Act/Olmstead Decision and integrated settings; and the history of American psychiatry. Dr. Geller received his medical degree from Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Emma Sweeney

Emma Sweeney recently retired as President of Emma Sweeney Agency, LLC, a literary agency based in New York City she founded in 2006 and sold to Folio Literary Management in 2020. During her 30+ years in book publishing, she sold over fifteen New York Times bestsellers and represented authors whose works won the National Book Award, the Man Booker Prize, the National Book Critics Circle, and the Pulitzer. She served as president of the Women's Media Group in 2003. Emma is also a writer whose own books include Tulipa (Artisan, 2000) and As Always, Jack (Little, Brown, 2002; Axios Press, 2012). She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley summa cum laude with a BA in English literature. Emma joined the Board of Clubhouse International earlier this year. She is keen to work with Clubhouse International to expand its visibility and reach. She lives in Millbrook, NY with her husband on a 200 year old farm; she is currently vice president of the Millbrook Garden Club.

Esko Hanninen

I finished in 1968 my Master's Degree with a set of Social and Behavioural Sciences in the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Later I have taken part in post-graduation studies e.g. in Helsinki School of Economics, College of Europe in Belgium, Academy for Public Administration in Bonn Germany, and in Finnish Insti-tute of Management (LIFIM). During years 1968 - 2009 I worked in the leading positions of the Finland's social welfare and health policy administration at local, regional and national levels. Since 1995 I have been involved in the coordination or management of around 20 European international R&D projects relevant to my expertise. From January 2001 until spring 2009 I was full-time Director of Unit for Inclusion and Accessibility of the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) and its preceding National Agency STAKES in Helsinki. During 2009 - 2012 I worked as part-time expert in the European MH policy projects. In 2013 I worked as a part-time policy expert in the EU funded international dehospitalisation MH project in the Republic of Serbia, and before that in similar projects in Romania, Kosovo and in the Kaliningrad region of Russia. Since autumn 2012 I have worked together with leaders of the World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation (WAPR) for organising several symposia or workshops on the innovative psychosocial rehabilita-tion models in the international conferences (e.g. in Milan Italy November 2012, Stavanger Norway in November 2013, Ljubljana Slovenia in April 2014, St.Petersburg Russia in May 2014, Madrid Spain in Sep-tember 2014, Lille France in April 2015, Torino Italy in May 2015). From spring 2013 until autumn 2014 I worked as member of WFMH Expert Group for schizophrenia and social inclusion. I have been board member of the Clubhouse International (former ICCD) in 1998 - 2017, and serve as board member of the Clubhouse Europe (former EPCD), and board member of the Association for Club-houses in South-Finland - in 2017, the association is running five rehabilitation Clubhouses. Also I am an expert of experience as to the mental disorders in my own family.

Jack Yatsko - COO

Jack Yatsko has been with Clubhouse International since 2002, and his career in mental health spans 30 years. He began his Clubhouse career in Hawaii in 1989 at Friendship House, the first Clubhouse program in Hawaii. Jack works closely with our Training Bases and Faculty for Clubhouse development; helps develop new Clubhouses; and provides technical assistance to many existing Clubhouses and groups or individuals seeking to learn more about the Clubhouse Model. Jack continues to reside in Hawaii although his travels take him across the globe. He has a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Hawaii.

Jennifer Tedesco - Chairman

Jennifer Tedesco is an Art Therapist and adjunct lecturer with international experience working with adolescents and adults coping with mental health issues. Jennifer has over ten years of clinical experience in both medical and psychiatric settings, natural disaster areas, and has worked both in NY and abroad with survivors of gender based violence, acts of terrorism, and war crimes. She co-developed a program launched in Nairobi, Kenya aimed at helping refugee youth dealing with trauma. Jennifer joined the Board of Clubhouse International in 2012. Jennifer is dedicated and passionate about Clubhouse International's holistic approach to helping people worldwide. Jennifer currently resides in New York with her husband and son. She spends her free time painting, reading, and traveling.

Joel D. Corcoran, M.Ed., is responsible for all of Clubhouse International's operations, programs, finances and communications. Joel has worked in the field of community mental health and psychiatric rehabilitation since 1981. Before assuming his position at Clubhouse International in 1995, his career included working at a large state psychiatric hospital, as a case manager, a residential director, a Clubhouse director and as an administrator in a multi-state mental health agency. He has been an advocate for state and national mental health services reform and for people living with mental illness to have a role in the design and evaluation of those services. Joel also has traveled extensively throughout the world, working to support the development and quality improvement of Clubhouse programs, helping them become strong and enduring resource centers for people living with mental illness. He has been an active advocate for quality services, dignified opportunities and full citizenship for people living with mental illness. He has worked with local, state, national and international governments, public and private health agencies, advocacy groups and educational institutions. In his role as the Executive Director of Clubhouse International, he has provided a system of training, Accreditation, technical assistance and consultation on local, state and national levels to government, family members, providers and consumer organizations interested in Clubhouse development.

Lee Kellogg

Lee Kellogg works closely with the other program officers in supporting Clubhouse Accreditation, Training, and Clubhouse Development. He received his B.S. from Michigan State University and his M.A. from Goddard College. Lee started his career at Thresholds in Chicago, first as a job coach and then as the Vocational Team Leader. Lee spent the next 17 years as the director of Genesis House in Michigan until he started with Clubhouse International in the fall of 2015. During his Genesis House years, Lee was very active in leading the Michigan Clubhouse Coalition and was also a member of the Clubhouse International Advisory Council.

Liz Wright

As Program Director of NorthStar Clubhouse in Portland, Oregon, USA, Liz was instrumental in increasing membership and securing sustained funding. Liz was active in the development of the Oregon Clubhouse Coalition and helped spur Clubhouse growth and recognition in the state. Liz began her career in the Clubhouse movement at Fountain House in New York City where she developed her knowledge and passion for the Clubhouse Model. Liz earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Vermont. Liz is an avid runner and enjoys hiking, skiing, and spending time with her rescue dog (who was well known at NorthStar Clubhouse).

Maggie Figueroa

Maggie Figueroa is responsible for organizing and managing the Executive Director's schedule, providing communications and administrative support to other staff, and coordinating special projects. Maggie also serves as liaison with the Board of Directors and organizations affiliated with Clubhouse International. Maggie joined Clubhouse International in 2003. Prior to that, she worked in administrative roles in the investment management and banking industries.

Mark Glickman

Mark Lewis Glickman has been involved in almost every aspect of the Clubhouse movement for almost 45 years. After graduation from Queens College, Mark experienced severe and disabling depression and two psychiatric hospitalizations. He was referred to Fountain House where he became a member in 1973. After years of participation in the day program, transitional employment, and independent employment, Mark joined the staff of Fountain House and worked with the National Training Program. In 1986, Mark earned a Masters degree in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University and worked as a reporter for a pubic television station in South Carolina. After returning to New York, Mark pursued his passion for journalism as a free-lance spot news reporter and published photographs in the New York Times, The Daily News and the New York Post. He rejoined the staff of Fountain House and was an integral part of the team led by Rudyard Propst that formulated the Clubhouse Standards. In the1990's, Mark made several documentaries, including a film about Fountain House entitled We Are Not Alone, which was widely disseminated in the Clubhouse community, and co-authored the book Fountain House: Portraits of Lives Reclaimed from Mental Illness (Hazelden Press). Over the years, Mark has written numerous articles and made many speeches around the world about the Clubhouse model. In addition to his work on behalf of Clubhouse, as a result of managing the investments of his ailing father, Mark developed an interest and expertise in the financial markets and continues to work independently as an investor. Mark served on the Board of Directors of Clubhouse International (and its predecessor International Center for Clubhouse Development) from its inception in 1994 until 2016 when he transitioned to Emeritus status.

Michelle Menzel

Michelle brings over a decade of experience in the non-profit sector to her role as Development Manager at Clubhouse International. She has held various positions in the nonprofit and multilateral space, including in governance operations, education development, and communications. She is passionate about effecting change through resource mobilization, and is excited to do her part to help Clubhouse International grow its resources and support base. Michelle earned a BA in Economics and French from New York University, and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Patrick Manasse

Patrick Manasse is an attorney and the Chief Compliance Officer for MonetaGo Inc., a technology company which provides a global digital platform leveraging existing financial networks to prevent fraud in real time. Having lived in nearly every corner of the globe, Patrick now calls New York City home. After studying Economics at McGill University in Canada, Patrick earned a Juris Doctor from Bond University in Australia, then went on to work for Spitfire Productions in Los Angeles, a venture responsible for producing a number of award-winning films. In 2008, he joined the New York law firm Guzov Ofsink as an associate, working for both the Corporate and Commercial Litigation groups. Patrick is also a graduate of a highly regarded MBA program based in Moscow, a product of a collaboration between the Russian government and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After his MBA, Patrick moved back to New York and founded MonetaGo with a partner.

Philip Goelet

Philip Goelet is a scientist, entrepreneur and investor. After completing his PhD in 1982 at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge UK, he worked as a post-doctoral student on learning and memory at Columbia University, NY. In his career, he has co-authored more than 40 publications in the fields of molecular biology, neuroscience and genomics. Goelet co-founded a number of biotechnology companies including Molecular Tool, Inc., RiboTargets, Plc., Dihedron, Inc., Population Genetic Technologies, Ltd., Arginetix, Inc., ZuvaChem, LLC and AgriMetis, LLC. The majority of these companies were co-founded by Acidophil, an innovation company he co-founded with research scientist Sydney Brenner in 2000. Goelet has invested in a number of venture capital firms through Red Abbey, LLC, since 1997 with his brother Christopher Goelet. In 2003, Red Abbey Venture Partners, a life sciences private equity fund, was co-founded by Goelet, Frank Bonsal and Matt Zuga. Since 2009, Philip continues to invest primarily in the companies founded by Acidophil. Sarah DeSouza Brown

Sarah DeSouza Brown worked at Genesis Club in Worcester, MA, USA for 11 years. She started as an Intern in the Membership Services Unit in her senior year of the Psychology program at Worcester State University. Shortly thereafter, she was hired as a Vocational Staff in the Career Development Unit to oversee the education and young adult initiatives. While helping to grow and develop the education and young adult programs' vision and funding, Sarah became the manager of those initiatives. Sarah earned her Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Assumption University in 2014 and was appointed as a board member for the Commission for Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) to represent the student perspective in the Rehabilitation Counseling profession from 2013 to 2015. In 2021, she joined the Faculty for Clubhouse Development to support Clubhouses via accreditation and consultation. Driven by her passion for the Clubhouse model of rehabilitation and for the growth and expansion of Clubhouse programs around the world, Sarah looks forward to joining Clubhouse International as a Program Officer. Sarah is originally from Brazil and has been living in Massachusetts, USA since she moved there with her family in 1995. She enjoys the opportunity to travel and immerse herself into new cultures and especially treasures trips to Brazil to visit her family. Sarah is the mom of a toddler and "dog-mom" of a shihtzu named Charlie Brown. Together with her husband, they look forward to warmer New England days to enjoy the outdoors together!

Teri Chadwick

Teri Chadwick joined Clubhouse International in early 2018 and has overall responsibility for fundraising growth. In her role, she works closely with the Board of Directors to engage and expand support from individuals, corporations and foundations. She also works with the Clubhouse team to promote and market Clubhouse International around the world. Teri brings extensive experience in fundraising, marketing and organizational development from her career as a nonprofit professional in St. Louis, Missouri USA, where she has held chief executive, marketing and development roles for national and international organizations. Tom Manning has a very long and valued involvement with Clubhouse International and the worldwide Clubhouse movement. Tom has served both as Board Chair of Clubhouse International and Board Member of Fountain House. Tom recently retired from the position of Deputy Chancellor for Commonwealth Medicine at University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS). He began his UMMS career in 1978-at what was then UMass Medical Center-as the associate hospital director for mental health affairs; his work in the department of psychiatry with then-department chair (and later, chancellor and dean) Aaron Lazare, MD, laid the groundwork for the medical school's significant involvement in public sector psychiatry programs.

Vincent Guillaumot
