Ada Wood

Ada is a climate activist and sees being part of our Good Future Board as an opportunity to have a positive effect on the future for so many young people. Ada has taken part in many climate strikes, including the organisation of Carlisle's 2019 global strike, seeing the help of local organisations to put on the biggest climate protect Carlisle had ever seen. Ada is a keen public speaker and has appeared on BBC Radio 4's Question Time as well as speaking at the Cumbria Climate Emergency Action Conference and the National Climate and Ecological Emergency Action Conference. Ada is keen to get going in the new role and has a real interest in the noise we've been making around greenwashing.

Akash Thaker

Akash believes it's his duty to care and contribute to bringing the planet back from its tipping point. He's excited to see how living in a lower-carbon energy system will play its part, which is why he was keen to join the Good Future Board. Over the last two years, Akash has spent some of his time working for the Good Plate Company. Here, he's built a solid understanding of what it's like working in an organisation with the customer at the centre and the role they play in supporting us with the fight against climate change.

Emma is a private equity investment Director who brings a wealth of investment experience. She is a Director of numerous renewable energy companies, established the renewable energy business at HG Capital in 2002 and founded Asper Investment Management in 2016 as the spinout of that business where she is Chief Investment Officer. She has been a Director for renewable developers and independent power producers, working across a range of renewable technologies. Emma is also a Director of the Gardeners' Royal Benevolent Society. Emma has substantial commercial experience spanning the entire lifecycle of investments in energy businesses, and has worked across a range of renewable technologies.

Françoise Woodward - COO

Job Titles:

Fran joined Good Energy in 2014, and is responsible for Customer Operations, Sales, Compliance & Risk and the People and Culture functions. She has over 20 years leadership experience from a breadth of organisations including Marks & Spencer, Coca-Cola, Dyson and EDF. Fran ensures the customer is at the heart of Good Energy's culture and its operations, drawing on her early career in retail operations and multiple senior HR and Transformation role. She is a graduate of Oxford University, a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a councillor for the CBI South West Regional Council.

Jack Solly

A keen environmentalist, Jack wants to do all he can to protect the planet, so that wildlife and natural beauty remains into his adulthood. Jack's a fan of ‘epic long walks' where he likes to take in the scenery and enjoys being out in the wild. Logic-thinking skills are Jack's strength and he recently scored in the top 10% nationally of the Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge. Jack has lots of ideas of how we can make the world a better place now, and in the future, which makes him a great addition to the Board.

James Rees

James joined Good Energy in 2021 and is responsible for product development, including UX design, digital insight, tariffs, and strategic partnerships. He has over 20 years of experience in energy retail and a deep understanding of the industry and product development, having worked for Drax Energy Solutions, Opus Energy, CGI, and British Gas Business. James is passionate about sustainability, is customer focused and is excited to shape the future of Good Energy's products and propositions.

Juliet Davenport - Founder

Kathryn Gornall

the lack of action and urgency from everyday people, politicians and celebrities has sparked Kathryn's interest in joining the Good Future Board. Dismayed by the average age of a board member (which is 60, in the UK), Kathryn is determined that younger people need to have their voices heard. She brings an unrelenting passion for the fight against climate change to the role. Kathryn is an active member of the student council, the Chester Youth Parliament, and the Pioneers of Sustainable Hope (POSH) movement.

Luke Bigwood

Luke is responsible for the Good Energy brand, customer acquisition and how we communicate to all of our audiences inside and outside of the business. Luke also oversees policy and regulatory issues and our government and external relations. He has amassed over 20 years' experience in marketing, communications and sales roles across multiple sectors and has also spent several years inside Government. Luke has two daughters and lives just outside of Bristol. He has a keen interest in sustainability issues and works with a youth charity in his spare time.

Mahnoor Kamran

Before moving to the UK, Mahnoor saw how severe the effects of climate change are in the Middle East and South Asia. Experiencing the effects first-hand with flooding and supporting climate-induced refugees has fuelled Mahnoor's passion in climate activism. As well as triggered her thinking about how the Western world can respond better to the climate crisis. Mahnoor has lots of experience in eco-projects across the world; from the planning of sustainable housing in Oman, to the purification of the Citrarum river in Indonesia. She was encouraged to apply for the board through The Centre for Sustainable Energy's Bright Green Future programme, for which she was a student and is now an alumni mentor and community support worker. The programme is designed to encourage diverse youth and empowerment in environmental leadership. She has a keen interest in how green energy companies can help tackle fuel poverty. And how we can make sure that those who are disadvantaged aren't marginalised - particularly those in the Global South who are being exploited due to an increase in western renewable energy demand.

Nemone Wynn-Evans

With extensive experience in financial services, Nemone brings skills across audit, risk management, business development, corporate finance, corporate governance, investor relations and marketing. She is currently Board Chair at the Shepherds Friendly Society. Nemone also holds a number of roles across a range of companies, including as a Non-Executive at Hinckley & Rugby Building Society where she chairs the Nominations Committee, as a Non-Executive Director at the Income & Growth Trust VCT plc where she chairs the Audit Committee, and as a Board Advisor at SORBUS Partners LLP. She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments. Nemone began her career in the City of London and has worked with many listed PLC and PRA/FCA/FSA regulated companies, having acted as a Finance Director on the main board of a stock exchange.

Good Energy is a green energy company with a mission to power a cleaner, greener, future. Nigel joined as CEO in May 2021 to lead Good Energy's development as an innovative supplier at the forefront of the transition to net zero. Nigel is a widely experienced senior executive with a strong commercial, digital, and operational track record spanning over 25 years. He most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer of Moneysupermarket Group plc. Prior to this, he held senior roles at Expedia Inc., including President of eBookers and Chief Marketing Officer of Hotels.com. He spent a decade of his early career at Pearson plc, including a period leading the digital operations of the Financial Times. He holds an MA and M.Phil from Oxford University and an MBA from INSEAD. Nigel is also a Non-Executive Director and remuneration committee chair at Kin + Carta plc, a global digital transformation business focused on helping make the journey to becoming a digital business tangible, sustainable and profitable

Shaina Shah

Shaina is passionate about looking after the environment and encouraging people to make small changes to lead a more sustainable life. At primary school, Shaina was chosen to be on the Eco-team, to consider initiatives to help the school become more environmentally friendly. Now at secondary school, Shaina was elected as a School Council representative where she helped introduce changes such as minimising the use of plastic in the canteen. in 2020, Shaina took part in the Global Social Leaders Summer Catalyst, which is an online programme to build leadership skills and confidence. She hopes to use being part of the Good Future Board to further enhance these skills as well as build some new ones.
