Donald 'Ike' Barnes

Ike was born and raised in Gainesville, Texas. In 1975, he received his B.B.A. in Finance from Texas A&M University. After graduation, Ike moved to Fort Worth and worked at Fort Worth National Bank and Texas American Bancshares. Several years later he decided to move back to his hometown and work in the family oil well servicing business, Barnes Brothers Well Service. In 1989, Ike accepted a position with Employer's Insurance of Texas and moved to Amarillo, Texas. He later worked with GMAC Auto finance and Xerox Company. In 2001, Ike began his appraisal career in Amarillo with McMorries Appraisal Company. Four years later, he formed Barnes Appraisal Services and continued to provide appraisal services in the Amarillo area. In May of 2012, Ike moved to College Station, Texas and joined M.G. Cangelose & Associates. Ike is a State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser. His continuing education training includes completing real estate appraisal coursework through Texas A&M University-Commerce, Amarillo College, The Columbia Institute, McKissock, and Kaplan Professional Schools. Outside the office, Ike is an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the Association of Former Students, and the 12 th Man Foundation. He enjoys golfing, running, and attending Aggie sporting events. Ike and his wife, Margaret, have three children.

Laurie Brown

Laurie was born in Las Cruces, NM but considers herself a Bryan, Texas native given she moved to the area at six months old. Upon graduating from Bryan High School, Laurie spent eight years serving in the capacity of Military Police in the United States Army. When it was time to leave the military in 1994, she knew she would return to the great city of Bryan. After moving back to the area, Laurie worked for six years as the office manager at RE/MAX Texas Heritage Realtors followed by two years of employment at Bryan/College Station Property Management. Laurie joined the staff at M.G. Cangelose and Associates in January 2004 and serves as office manager. Her primary responsibilities include receiving and processing appraisal requests, making appointments for appraisal inspections, managing the phone system, and assisting clients and staff. When not at work, Laurie enjoys spending time with her son and being a member of the Congenial Group bowling team. She also enjoys singing in the choir of the First Baptist Church in Bryan.

Marty Cangelose

Marty is a native of the Bryan/College Station area. He is a Texas A&M University graduate and received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing in 1981. Marty began his appraisal career in residential valuations in Bryan/College Station and has been in the real estate appraisal business since 1984. He relocated to Dallas, Texas in 1987 to further his career in commercial real estate appraisal. After four years in the Dallas appraisal market, he moved back to the Bryan/College Station area. In 1993, Marty formed M.G. Cangelose & Associates specializing in residential real estate appraisals. Marty is a State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser and a licensed real estate broker in the state of Texas. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors ® and holds a RAA-Residential Accredited Appraiser designation. His continuing education training includes completing real estate appraisal coursework and attending seminars through the Houston Chapter Appraisal Institute, Robinson Real Estate School, Champions School of Real Estate, and The Columbia Institute. Marty is civically active and has served on numerous local boards including the Bryan/College Station Regional Multiple Listing Service, the Bryan/College Station Homebuilders Association, the Children's Museum of the Brazos Valley, and the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce. He presided as the 2005-2006 Chairman of the Board for the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce and currently co-chairs the Chamber's Legislative Affairs Committee which travels annually to Washington D.C. to promote community interests with local legislators. Marty is also a member of the Better Business Bureau and provides in-kind appraisal services for Habitat for Humanity. Outside the office, Marty is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation, Texas A&M Association of Former Students, and a 16 year volunteer with the HOSTS (Helping One Student to Succeed) program. He enjoys spending time with his family, attending Texas A&M sporting events, and is a devout runner.
