PINE KNOLL SHORES

Pine Knoll Shores is a small community in Carteret County that has some of the prettiest homes on the Crystal Coast. This is a quieter area than some of the areas along the coast. Pine Knoll Shores operates under a council-manager form of government. The manager is the chief administrator of the town and has the responsibilities of all municipal affairs, the council-manager form of government is based on a separation of functions, with the governing body being legislative, policy-oriented and administration the responsibility of the manager. The mayor and five-board member Board of Commissioners are elected at large. The mayor serves a two-year term and the commissioners serve a four-year term. The utilities are through Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative. The Town of Atlantic Beach provides curbside garbage and recycling. Pine Knoll Shores has so much to offer year-round.
