George Rhoads makes stuff. He has deep brick and mortar retail and automated manufacturing skills. He'll make anything that anyone will pay him for, through his company Dusty and Famous. He's also a partner in American Haptics, which manufacturs American made custom input systems and work mats. George has been a member of Build, RVA for several years, first as Woodshop teacher and now as Director. George grew up in the Appalacian mountains, and has lived in Richmond for the past 6 years.

Jonathan is an electrical & computer engineer having started his career as a scientist developing thin film photovoltaics (solar cells) and helping to achieve world record efficiency in CdTe based solar modules. Having then worked on lithium ion batteries, fuel cells, and many other semiconductor products, he moved into medical and fitness devices and then onwards into makerspaces. He holds several patents and is a licensed P.E.. Jonathan founded Build, RVA in 2016 with the goal of providing access to the means of modern production for any individual. Today Jonathan continues to serve on the board at Build while teaching engineering design at William & Mary and continuing to promote and build makerspace communities.

Josh Stolberg was born in Richmond, VA. He attended VCU where he earned a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduating, he obtained a job at General Electric working on gas turbine power plants. After ten years of the corporate grind, Josh decided to start his own business, CapWorks. Several years later, Josh permanently moved his studio to Build and joined the Board of Directors. When not doing CapWorks and Build things, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and son, drinking beer, and sleeping; often simultaneously. Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.

Kim Flournoy has been a Director for Build, RVA since 2023. She is also a regular volunteer, teaching the Intro to CNC class and helping with programming and marketing for the organization. Kim joined Build when she moved to Richmond in 2018, and has started creating lasered pieces to sell at local makers markets. In her professional life, she has been a web developer and software engineer for more than 20 years, specializing in accessibility for web and mobile applications. Kim lives with her husband and their adorable tortie cat Millie.

Meet Alexander Casas, President of Operations at Build, RVA - Richmond's largest community maker space. Alex is a passionate maker and technology enthusiast who joined Build, RVA as a member in 2017, seeking a coworking space and workshop to experiment with electronics and learn about 3D printing. At Build, RVA, he found a dynamic community of makers and friends who helped him grow and develop his skills. Alex is also a seasoned entrepreneur with a wealth of experience in the IT and finance industries. In 2013, he founded Casas Computer Consulting, LLC, an IT company that provides networking, information security, and help desk services to individuals, small businesses, and multinational enterprises. In 2015, he founded Rock Steady Wealth, Inc, an independent investment advisory firm that offers fiduciary wealth management services to individuals, businesses, and non-profits. Alex is also a licensed commercial drone pilot with a Part 107 certification. He has used his drones to capture stunning footage for TV, advertising, and film projects, including a PBS documentary that received multiple daytime Emmy nominations. Driven by his passion for "making" and his desire to inspire others to learn and create, Alex joined the board of Build, RVA in 2018 as treasurer, and was elected President of Operations in 2023. In his free time, he enjoys tinkering with 3D printers, flying custom-built drones, playing video games, and hiking with his hound dog, Daisy.
