Andrew Myrick

Andrew Myrick, CEcD, EDFP, has been working with the City of Salinas for more than 10 years. Most recently, he has been focused primarily on the development of an AgTech Innovation Ecosystem within the Salinas Valley, including the local coordination for the Forbes Reinventing America: The AgTech Summit in Salinas in July 2015 and July 2016, the successful engagement with the National Resource Network to provide assistance with the development of a workforce development initiative, support for entrepreneurial development, and marketing efforts. Prior to this, he spent five years as the manager of the Salinas Valley Enterprise Zone, a regional economic development organization spanning the Salinas Valley, where he worked on various initiatives supporting the Salinas Valley region, including support of the establishment of a California Welcome Center, creation of a regional Business Retention and Expansion Program, provision of regional business attraction tools, and working to provide services from the Small Business Development Center in cities through the Salinas Valley. During this time he served as a Board Member with the California Association of Enterprise Zones, and was Co-Chair of the Government Affairs Committee with that organization. He also has several years of experience in urban planning and land use. Mr. Myrick is recognized as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) by the International Economic Development Council, and as an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) by the National Development Council. He possesses a B.A. in Urban Studies and Planning from UC San Diego and an M.S. in Applied Economics and Finance from UC Santa Cruz.
