TAILINGS CHALLENGE

Implement a "rock refinery" which can separate a given silicate rock (for example fresh tailings) into cement, iron, and aluminum all while being more than 50% lower emissions than conventional production even when powered by coal. Because of the scale of these products, this technology has the potential to consume the world's tailings. This process can be profitable while only producing cement, so the proposal considers starting with a process to make cement. Also using tailings will substantially reduce the cost of their products.
