ZIP CODE EAST BAY - Key Persons

Camden Richards

Job Titles:
  • Creative Director
  • Member of the Corporate Team
Serving the community is a large part of the Zip Code East Bay identity. As Creative Director of ZCEB, I love serving our community through education and involvement. Whether it's green-living tips, local historical facts, neighborhood parks or information about where your utilities come from, you can be sure that what we create and share will be interesting, useful, and contributing to the improvement of the local community. When I'm not wearing my Zip Code East Bay hat, I enjoy creating one-of-a-kind or small editioned artist books that are held in public and private collections worldwide under my imprint Liminal Press + Bindery, teaching printmaking workshops in the local public schools and select art studios, serving on the Board of Directors for the College Book Art Association, and volunteering for the CODEX Foundation. And oh yeah, I'm mom to three beautiful young children! Previously I served as an adjunct faculty member at the Corcoran College of Art + Design and worked in design and communications for Pixels & Ink and the National Women's Law Center. I hold a BA in English/Art History from Boston College, an AFA in Graphic Design and an MA in Art and the Book from the Corcoran College of Art + Design.

I am not your average Broker. I am a trained environmental engineer and hold three degrees including an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland; Master of Science from Johns Hopkins University and Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame. After 15 years of working with various environmental firms and non profits, including fundraising at one of the nation's top universities, I felt called to a career that would enable me to work with people on a more intimate, community level while also being more present for my young family. As a result, I founded Zip Code East Bay in 2012, and haven't looked back since. Buying and selling a house is essentially a combination of complex equations (which appeals to the engineer in me), engaging personal interactions (which appeals to my mid-western roots) and creative problem solving (which appeals to my entrepreneurial nature). And I believe in the value of excellent and innovative marketing, a real difference maker in today's market. As a successful broker in the East Bay, the passion for my work allows me to consistently contribute to my community, neighbors and family. But above all, I am a people person. Personal relationships sustain us as humans, and the relationship with your Realtor is critical. If you are committed to buying or selling a home, let's talk. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

As a marketing professional, I'm thrilled to be part of the Zip Code East Bay team. The company's brand values of community and green living align with my own core values, which makes coming to work joyful. I bring a passion for delivering results in today's complex media environment and for employing the latest engagement tools to grow meaningful relationships with audiences. Prior to joining Zip Code East Bay, I worked for the Oakland-based marketing communications agency Circlepoint, where I created multi-channel campaigns to raise awareness about important issues and inspire people to adopt sustainable behaviors. Before that, I worked as a marketing strategist at the global architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. I graduated from Hamilton College in New York with a dual major in Art and Spanish and received my Master's Degree in Visual and Critical Studies from California College of the Arts. I love the East Bay and enjoy living in El Cerrito with my husband and two kids.
