PilarJacksonistheTrainingandTechnicalAssistanceProgramManagerattheAfricanAmericanBehavioralHealthCenterofExcellence(AABH-CoE)housedattheNationalCenterofPrimaryCareatMorehouseSchoolofMedicine.SheobtainedherundergraduatedegreefromTempleUniversity,CollegeofPublicHealth,withherB.S.inPublicHealth.Inaddition,shewasalsochosenandrecognizedasaCenterforDiseaseUndergraduatePublicHealthScholarandcompletedanimmersiveresidentialprogramattheUniversityofMichigan,SchoolofPublicHealth,whereshereceivedleadershiptraining,practicalfieldexperience,andcompletedintensiveresearchforaCommunityHealthNeedsAssessmentinYpsilanti,MI. Herprofessionalworkisrootedinleadershipandprogrammaticpositionsworkingdirectlywithmultiplepopulationsacrossthenon-profit,colleges/universities,media,andgovernmentsectors.Herpassionsincludesubstancemisuseandsuicideprevention,maternalandinfanthealth,aswellasmentalhealthpromotion,education,andawareness.Herpassionsaredeeplyrootedinhercommitmenttoservingandstrengtheningcommunitiesbyeducatingcommunitiesinordertoensureamorecompetentandeffectivebehavioralhealthsystem.

SarahY.Vinson,M.D.,F.A.P.A.isaphysicianwhospecializesinadult,childandadolescent,andforensicpsychiatry.SheisthefounderoftheLorioPsychGroup,anAtlanta,GA-basedmentalhealthpracticeprovidingexpertcareandconsultation.Dr.VinsonisalsothefounderofLorioForensics,whichprovidesconsultationinawidevarietyofcriminal,civil,andfamilycourtcases.AftergraduatingfrommedicalschoolattheUniversityofFloridawithResearchHonorsandasanInducteeintheChapmanHumanismHonorsSociety,shecompletedhergeneralpsychiatrytrainingatCambridgeHealthAlliance/HarvardMedicalSchool.Whilethere,shealsoreceivedspecializedtrainingintraumathroughtheVictimsofViolenceProgram.ShethenreturnedtotheSouthtocompletefellowshipsinbothchildandadolescentandforensicpsychiatryatEmoryUniversitySchoolofMedicine. Inadditiontoprovidingmentalhealthcareservicessuchaspsychotherapy,consultation,andpsychopharmacologythroughherprivatepractice,Dr.VinsonisanAssociateClinicalProfessorofPsychiatryandPediatricsatMorehouseSchoolofMedicine.JusttwoyearsafterjoiningthefacultyshewashonoredasPsychiatryandFacultyoftheYearin2015.SheisalsoAdjunctFacultyatEmoryUniversitySchoolofMedicine.Shehasbeenelectedand/orappointedtomanynationalandstatewideofficesbyherprofessionalpeers.SheisthePastPresidentoftheGeorgiaCouncilonChildandAdolescentPsychiatry,andtheTreasureroftheGeorgiaPsychiatricPhysiciansAssociation.Additionally,sheisanAdvisorfortheJudgesPsychiatryLeadershipInitiative.Shehasbeenaspeakeratnationalconferences,includingtheAmericanPsychiatricAssociationAnnualMeeting,theAmericanAcademyofChildandAdolescentPsychiatryAnnualMeeting,andTheNationalUrbanLeagueAnnualMeeting.Dr.Vinsonhasreceivednumerousawardsinrecognitionofherserviceandleadership,includingtheUniversityofFloridaCollegeofMedicineOutstandingYoungAlumnaAwardandtheAPAJeanneSpurlockMinorityFellowshipAlumnaAchievementAward.
