Juan Carlos Nieves Sánchez

Juan Carlos Nieves Sánchez is an associate professor and a senior researcher in Theoretical Foundations of Artificial Intelligence. He is deputy Programme Director of the MSc programme in Artificial Intelligence. Member of the council for Doctoral Education in Computer Science at Umeå Universitet. He has been serving as an external (Ethical) advisor/reviewer in different EU projects. He has also served as an expert reviewer for different European national research councils. During the last years, he has been particularly interested in how theories on human decision-making and human activity can be translated into formal computational theories that may enhance the social adaptability of intelligent systems.

Matthias Schunter

Matthias Schunter (Dr.-Ing, MBA) is the Chief Technologist of the Intel Collaborative Research Institute for Secure Computing and a Principal Engineer at Intel Labs. His current research focuses on scalable security for IoT infrastructures. He has conducted research in diverse areas such as virtual systems security, trusted computing, enterprise privacy management, security protocols, and cryptography. Prior to joining Intel, he joined IBM Research - Zurich in 2001 and has lead their research on cloud security and was technical leader of the EU Project TClouds. He holds an MBA from Warwick University, a Doctorate from Saarland University, and a Diploma in Computer Science from Hildesheim University.
