Amanda Hellier RVN

Amanda started working at Alver Veterinary Group in August 2006. She is a registered nurse and qualified in 2013. She has always had a love of animals and has been working with animals for the past 20 years - including working for the RSPCA and a boarding kennel and cattery. She is a foster mum for the RSPCA and always has kittens and the occasional litter of rabbits. She has an array of rescued pets at home, including her beloved German Shepherds, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. She enjoys all aspects of her job and is constantly learning new things.

Andrea Coleman RVN

Andrea started at Alver Vets in 2019. She qualified in 2008 and has a degree in veterinary nursing science. Her favourite part of the job is inpatient care, anaesthetics and nurse clinics, especially if any of those are Collies! In her spare time she enjoys running around after her young family and old gent of a Collie Alfie.

Anne Garoghan RVN

Anne joined Alver Veterinary Group in 2013. She completed her training to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse in December 2020 after studying at MYF Training in Aldershot. She has a Springer Spaniel called Ben. Anne enjoys the variety of her job as every day is different and she gets to learn new skills.

Beverly Byrne

Job Titles:

Beverly has been working at Alver Veterinary Group since 2008 as receptionist. She loves animals, so to work with them is her ideal job. She likes to walk, as she has three dogs, a Jack Russell, Beagle and a Rottie cross South African Mastiff. They are called Millie, Toby and Troy. Beverly spends a lot of time at her field with her two horses, Jupiter and Willow, and her geese, chickens and ducks. She also has a rabbit and two guinea pigs.

Chloe Newman

Chloe Newman is a student nurse at Alver, joining the practice in November 2020.

Emily Potter RVN

Job Titles:

Emily has a gorgeous Spaniel cross called Bonnie, with whom she enjoys going for long walks in the countryside with.

Felicity Crook RVN

Flick started working with us at Alver Vets in 2007 after completing her work experience here and working towards the RVN qualification in 2013. Her favourite aspects of the job are inpatient care and recovery as she loves the rewarding side of seeing patients get better and improve. At home Flick has three cats and a mad Labrador.

Hannah Downing

Hannah has worked at Alver Veterinary Group since 2006 and enjoys working with animals very much. Prior to working at Alver she had a career working with horses and owned her own pony for 22 years. Outside of work she likes to go for long walks with her dog Reggie.

Jessica Laws RVN

Job Titles:
  • Registered Veterinary Nurse
Jessica enjoys learning something new every single day and has found that the veterinary world is always changing. Before Alver, she started studying for her FdSc Veterinary Nursing degree. She also has a Level 3 extended diploma in Animal Management at Sparsholt College, working with all kinds of animals- her favourite being the Meerkats. She lives with three German Shepherds and recently took up crocheting which is now her favourite hobby.

Jordan Kershaw

Jordan joined Alver Veterinary Group in 2017 as a kennel maid and has since began training to become a fully qualified veterinary nurse. She loves working with the team. Caring for animals is her passion and she loves that every day is different. Jordan has her own pet, a little Jack Russell named Titchy.

Lesley Brown RVN

Lesley was the first ever qualified veterinary nurse at Alver Veterinary Group and is still here as head nurse over 40 years later. Lesley likes the diversity of the job and is still enjoying it after all these years. She has had many animals over the years, including cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs. She currently has three rescue cats.

Louise Layzell RVN

Louise qualified in 2011 as a veterinary nurse, but has worked for Alver Veterinary Group since 2001, starting at the age of 14. You will often see Louise running nurses clinics which include weight clinics, diabetic clinics and puppy parties. She loves seeing how much the pets improve with our help. In her spare time she enjoys making cakes and walking her dog, Axel.

Mikaela Gilford RVN

Job Titles:

Mikaela first started as a kennel maid in 2006, and then went on to train as a veterinary nurse, qualifying in 2014. Her favourite parts of the job are working in the lab and theatre. Mikaela mostly enjoys assisting with orthopaedics by either scrubbing in or maintaining the masses of equipment that's goes with it.

Rachel Simpson RVN

Rachel is a qualified Veterinary Nurse with lots of experience and a genuine interest in laboratory work. Rachel started with us in July 2020 and she is looking forward to giving many cuddles to our furry inpatients.

Sadie Evans

Job Titles:
  • Administrator
For Sadie the best part of her job is the variety it brings each day, which may be why she has worked for Alver Veterinary Group for over 25 years. At home Sadie has a cat named Bongo and a blind Pug named Frieda, which are both rescues through work. When she's not at work she enjoys spending time with her family.

Sally Kingston RVN

Sally is a registered veterinary nurse who qualified in 2009. She has been working at Alver Veterinary Group since 2011, where she runs the diabetic clinics and puppy parties at our Stubbington branch. Sally currently has one delightful cat, Ali, and two children. She enjoys reading, swimming, going on family outings and eating cake.

Shannon Lee Merrett

joined us in May 2019 and immediately felt like part of the team. After many years of working in the corporate sector, Shannon feels grateful to be able to spend her days working with a variety of lovely animals and getting to give them lots of cuddles and treats! In Shannon's spare time she likes to spend time with her two young children and taking her lovely Cockapoo Zephyr out for walks.

Sharon Moore

Sharon joined Alver in June 2021, but prior to this she worked in the travel industry for 19 years. She enjoys customer and animal interaction and the different challenges this role will bring. She is a dog lover but sadly has no pets since her Daschund passed away three years ago. Her hobbies include, eating out, going for walks, socialising with friends, and going on holidays.

Sophie Wise

Sophie is a patient care assistant at the practice, joining us in January 2021.

Tilly Harcombe RVN

Tilly started with Alver Veterinary Group in 2016 as a trainee nurse and has worked her way up to become a now fully qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse. Tilly has a vast number of animals, ranging from hamsters and rabbits to reptiles and dogs.

Vicky Dyke RVN

Vicky started at Alver Veterinary Group in 1997, starting with work experience and then going on to full-time employment. She has been a qualified veterinary nurse since September 2004. She loves the practical side to her job and that each day is different.

Victoria Kendall

Vicki stated at Alver Vets in 2017. You may recognise Vicki as she was a post lady for 17 years and has delivered to many a road in Gosport. She has many animals at home, including degus, chinchillas and many guinea pigs. Her latest dog is a rescue dog called Poppy who is a very mad and energetic black Labrador.
