Kevin graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. Upon receiving his degree, he returned to Brazil where he spent three years as a loan/credit officer with Citibank N.A. managing lines of credit for multinational corporations.
In 1986, Kevin returned to the United States and leveraged his financial background by entering the financial markets as an institutional broker which led him to becoming a government/municipal bond trader at one of the largest commercial banks in Arkansas.
Having a veteran's experience in the financial markets by 1996, Kevin elected to devote his efforts and skills to providing advice to high net worth individuals through the bank which was ultimately to become Regions Bank.
In 2003, Kevin was recruited to move to Citigroup Smith Barney, where he spent five years expanding his knowledge and gained further experience from the vantage point of being inside a large Wall Street firm.
With a strong belief that clients deserved more than they were getting from the large Wall Street firms and brokerage firms in general, Kevin became an independent advisor and moved his investment practice to LPL Financial in December 2008.
Kevin continues to devote himself daily to partnering with clients and striving to make sure they receive exemplary service coupled with honest and timely financial advice.
Kevin and his wife of thirty-five years have loved living in Tyler since 1998. They are blessed with two daughters, both of which are married, and currently have two grandchildren. They enjoy the fellowship of South Spring Baptist Church in Tyler where he serves as deacon and various work teams as needed.
By partnering with Kevin Carswell, an industry veteran with decades of brokerage and advising experience, Robert has the resources and independence to create custom portfolios and wealth planning strategies. Robert and Kevin established Azalea Wealth Partners to offer clients the most objective, trustworthy, and timely financial advice possible with a particular focus on the east Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth, and northwest Louisiana communities.
Robert brings extensive experience to the work of wealth management from the fields of small business ownership, insurance, research, and project management. A natural educator and coach, he has taught courses most recently in the east Texas community at the University of Texas at Tyler and LeTourneau University in Longview in addition to operating a successful consulting business. He now enjoys combining all these areas of experience in educating and advising clients how to navigate the financial markets and investment strategies.
Robert is also a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University. He lives in Tyler with his wife, Michele, and two daughters. They are active at Whitehouse ISD and in the Tyler and Whitehouse communities.
