Abigail has worked in K-12 and higher education for the past 15 years. Within that time, she spent 10 years in a large school district focused on increasing access to higher education by supporting and championing data systems aimed at equity and transparency. She initiated new community partnerships aimed at ensuring the accuracy of district-wide programs, thus increasing opportunities for all students in the areas of financial aid and the college application process. She earned her Masters in Public Administration from California State University, East Bay and her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Adrien Redford

As a User Support Manager resolving help tickets related to the utilization of CaliforniaCollege.edu, Adrien Redford will also be streamlining the college planning and application process for students with step-by-step resources and tools as needed. Adrien's most recent roles, before joining CCGI, involved building support teams at a tech company and at a student-to-alumni calling program for higher education advancement. Adrien graduated with a B.A. in Media Studies and Music from Pomona College in Claremont, CA.

Alessandra Fadeff

Alessandra Fadeff serves as communications manager, working to develop print and digital collateral, social media, and other content to support educator-facing and internal communications. Alessandra is also responsible for ensuring the alignment and organization of CCGI's communications assets. Before joining CCGI, she worked to develop admissions, outreach, and communications strategies for UC Berkeley's undergraduate business program. Alessandra earned her bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Seattle University in Seattle, WA.

Alison Fedyna Villa

Alison Fedyna Villa serves as the Director of Strategic Impact, working across teams at CCGI to strengthen internal data analysis processes and strategy as well as support the alignment of organizational goals and outcomes with program operations. She is a social impact leader dedicated to disrupting inequitable systems and creating conditions where all students have the opportunity to thrive. Alison brings more than 12 years of experience in the nonprofit and education sectors, leveraging her program evaluation, facilitation and training, and instructional design expertise. Most recently, Alison served as the Assistant Director of Graduate Student Teaching and Learning at UCLA and California Program Director with America Needs You. She earned her Master of Arts in Applied Psychology from New York University, and both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Toledo.

Allie Ebner

Prior to joining CCGI, Allie worked extensively to train K-12 educators and adult learners across the country in her role as the National Director of Training and Organizing for Educators for Excellence, a nonprofit doing advocacy work around educational equity. Allie earned her B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.

Amanda Tejeda

Ana Castillo

Ana Castillo serves as the student voice coordinator and supports the Communications Team with producing content featuring first-generation high school students and recent high school graduates. She helps recruit students who use CaliforniaColleges.edu for college and career planning, and she ensures their voices are represented in CCGI's outreach presentations to parents, educators, and other stakeholders. Before CCGI, Ana engaged in volunteer work for her community, helping her city during the summer and fellow youth in after-school programs. She is a recent high school graduate and is the first in her family to attend college.

Andrew Brown

He has also worked as a barista for several third-wave coffee establishments. Andrew earned his bachelor's degree in anthropology at California State University, Northridge.

Angela Mata

Before joining CCGI, Angela served as a Data Analyst at Bonita Unified School District where she oversaw CALPADS state data reporting and collaborated with district and school staff, as well as school districts throughout California, to ensure data integrity in state and local student information systems. Prior to that, she was a Database Specialist at Pasadena Unified School District. Angela earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology from Princeton University and her master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California.

Anna Lorena Garcia

Before joining CCGI, Anne served as a lead on the product development team at Western Governors University where she led a team to support business development efforts and develop customized learning experiences and resources. Anne earned her Bachelors of Science in Biological Science and her Master of Arts in Philosophy from Biola University, her Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Southern California and her Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University.

April Grommo

April Grommo has a wealth of experience within the California State University System and other California segments, gained over 23 years of higher education experience. While at Sierra-Cedar, she was a Program Director where she managed several student-system implementations with clients. Prior to Sierra-Cedar, Ms. Grommo was the Director of the IT Project Office at California State University San Marcos. She provided information technology leadership, including enrollment management support and student-centered initiatives. In her current role, as Director of Enrollment Management Services, at the California State University she is focused on systemwide enrollment management strategies, policies, and practices including first-time freshmen, transfer, and graduate admission and coordinating the development and implementation of K-16 diagnostic, placement, and assessment instruments. Ms. Grommo received her Educational Leadership Doctorate from University of California, San Diego in 2014, where she focused on social networks of underrepresented community college transfer students.

Ashley Davis

Ben Baird

Prior to joining CCGI, he worked for the Los Rios Community College District. Ben holds a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MS from Drexel University.

Bryan Miller

Bryan Miller oversees the Foundation for California Community Colleges' marketing, communications, and technology projects. Mr. Miller works with a team of communications strategists, skilled in outreach, branding, and publication and web design. Over the past decade, he and his team have been recognized with over 40 awards at the state, regional, and national level for excellence in marketing, communications, and design. Mr. Miller has over 20 years of experience in the design and communications field. Prior to working at the Foundation, he served as Creative Director for the Strategic Communications Division of the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, where he won a Gold award for the design of the CCC System Strategic Plan website. He attended American River College and is a graduate of the Art Institute of Seattle.

Carmen Harris

Prior to joining CCGI, Carmen served as a Research Technician for the Pasadena Unified School District where she created data dashboards as well as collected, compiled, and manipulated data concerning school attendance, student enrollment, demographics, classroom availability, utilization and staffing. Carmen has worked for Pasadena Unified School District for 11 years as an Application Support Assistant where she supported schools with master scheduling, queries, attendance, discipline and other data needs as well as analyzed data being submitted to CALPADS from the student information system.

Carol Wesolowski

Carol Wesolowski serves as the Technical Project Manager, focusing on the project management and facilitation of the Infrastructure Team, while fostering transparency and cross-team collaboration. Carol most recently served as the technical project manager at Indigov and Evidation Health. Catalina Cifuentes

Catalina Cifuentes is an educator who has demonstrated a gift for counseling and advocacy on behalf of all students. In her former position as lead counselor at Santiago High School, Ms. Cifuentes worked with the counseling team to design a successful guidance program which led to Riverside County as well as California Department of Education recognitions for exemplary counseling practices. She worked with her administrative team and staff to transform the school by raising the academic rigor and expectations from students resulting in the highest graduation rate and second highest "a-g" completion rate in Riverside, Inyo, Mono, and San Bernardino Counties. Ms. Cifuentes now shares those best counseling practices across Riverside County as a team member in the Ed Services unit in the Riverside County Office of Education. She is also a former secondary Language Arts teacher and has extensive experience working with English Learner programs. She was selected in November 2014 as a speaker for the College Opportunity White House Convening- Strengthening School Counseling and College Advising. As a former AVID student and first generation college graduate, Ms. Cifuentes has a contagious passion for this work. Ms. Cifuentes was recently appointed by Governor Brown to the California Student Aid Commission.

Darice earned her bachelor's degree in business management and administration from University of Phoenix and her Master of Public Administration from California State University, East Bay.

Heather Allen

Heather Allen serves as CCGI's Chief Programs Officer, driving strategy for implementation of CaliforniaColleges.edu and how it can be used by K-12 practitioners and higher education segments to smooth the path to college and opportunity for students throughout our state. She spent more than 15 years working in the Fresno Unified School District in a variety of site and district leadership roles. She began her career as a School Counselor and later became a high school Vice Principal. At the district level, she worked in multiple departments that included IT, School Leadership and College & Career Readiness. She served as the Executive Officer of the Instructional Division before joining CCGI. Heather earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Stanford University and her Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, Fresno.

Jacquelyn Mendieta

Jacquelyn earned both her bachelor's degree in Psychology and her master's degree in Child Development from the California State University, Los Angeles.

Janette Nikolakopoulos

Before joining CCGI, Janette spent almost a decade with edtech companies, primarily managing cross-functional product teams to publish online courses, resources, and tools. Janette earned her B.S. from Northwestern University and her M.A. from St. Mary's College of California.

Jessica M. Wagoner

Jessica M. Wagoner is the Senior Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Services (EM&S) in the Division of Academic Affairs at Cal Poly Pomona. Ms. Wagoner leads and oversees the Offices of Admissions and Enrollment Planning; Outreach, Recruitment, and Educational Partnerships; Financial Aid and Scholarships; and the Registrar's Office. Ms. Wagoner provides leadership, vision, strategic direction, management, and assessment of multiple, complex, and interdependent enrollment programs and services in the EM&S unit. Ms. Wagoner leads technology initiatives to increase productivity and efficiency and to expand data analysis to inform strategic decision-making as well as to remove institutional impediments to student success, and to provide responsive and quality service for Cal Poly Pomona's diverse student body. Ms. Wagoner has over 24 years of admissions, higher education technology, and leadership experience. For the past decade, Ms. Wagoner has served as the Director of Admissions and Operations at Cal State Fullerton and was previously the Associate Director of Admissions at Cal State Long Beach. Throughout her career, Ms. Wagoner has provided strong and strategic leadership on a variety of technology and enrollment management projects, and she played a critical role in successfully implementing multiple directives and policies, system and software modifications for higher education. Ms. Wagoner earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from Cal State Fullerton.

Jessica Riano-Tripp

Joanna Vazquez Zelaya

Joanna Zelaya serves as Deputy Director of Engagement & Implementation, driving efforts to close equity gaps by building partnerships with school districts and communities to ensure our work is centered on the needs and experiences of students, families, and educators. Prior to joining CCGI, she worked with Oakland Unified School District, where she designed and managed the implementation of local policy that generated supplemental revenue to re-design traditional high schools into Linked Learning career academies. Back in her home of Southern California, she led and contributed to advocacy efforts to improve the educational outcomes and experiences for Latino/a students in Los Angeles. Joanna earned her M.P.A. from UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy and her B.A. from UCLA.

Julia I. Lopez

Lopez served as the president and CEO of College Futures Foundation (then known as College Access Foundation of California) from 2008 until her retirement in June 2017. Before joining College Futures Foundation, Ms. Lopez served as Senior Vice President of the Rockefeller Foundation. In that leadership role, she provided oversight, management, and evaluation of the Foundation's strategic program grantmaking, which awarded an average of $150 million per year. In her earlier work for Rockefeller, she served as director of the foundation's Working Communities program, addressing urban poverty and education in the United States. Ms. Lopez has lent her talents to the California Legislature, the New Mexico Department of Criminal Justice, and the Department of Social Services for the City and County of San Francisco where, as General Manager, she oversaw programs serving the city's most disadvantaged residents. She has also served on the Board of Directors of REDF (formerly the Roberts Enterprise Development Fund), and as a commissioner for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities. Her own research focuses on college access and success among underserved students. Paula Mishima

Paula Mishima is currently a Special Projects Education Administrator for the California Department of Education (CDE), where she has worked as the CDE's program lead for the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) since its 2009 inception. Mishima led numerous efforts to enhance CALPADS, such as implementing the ongoing data linkage with the California Department of Social Services to help ensure foster youth were receiving needed educational services and collecting statewide data on chronic absenteeism that is now used as an accountability metric on the California School Dashboard. Today, CALPADS feeds numerous mission-critical functions, including providing nearly all data for the Dashboard as well as funding calculations under the Local Control Funding Formula and registering students for statewide assessments. With an intimate knowledge of CALPADS data, Ms. Mishima has particular expertise in how data are used in the state's accountability system and how schools and districts can use that data to continually improve student outcomes. Ms. Mishima graduated from Stanford University and went on to receive her master's degree in Public Affairs from the University of Washington. After graduate school, Ms. Mishima worked for the California State Legislature for 11 years-eight years as an education analyst for the Legislative Analyst's Office and three years as the senior education consultant for the Assembly Ways and Means Committee. In 1994, Ms. Mishima left the Assembly to work as a legislative representative for CDE, becoming CDE's Governmental Affairs Director in 1996. Salomón earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and he earned his master's degree in teaching and curriculum from Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Sara Kong

She earned her master's degree in school counseling from Chapman University and her bachelor's degree in child and adolescent development from California State University, Fullerton, where she graduated summa cum laude in the University Honors Program.

Sarah Yanagi

Prior to joining CCGI, Sarah worked as an elementary school and secondary educational Speech Language Pathologist for Elk Grove Unified School District and as a clinical supervisor for graduate students pursing a career as a educational Speech Language Pathologist. She worked avidly with middle school students as they learned strategies for self-advocacy and classroom learning on their journey to choosing a college and career path. Sarah received both her B.S. and M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from CSU Sacramento.

Selma Gonzalez

Selma Gonzalez serves as the Director of Engagement & Implementation for the Central Valley region, driving efforts to close equity gaps by building partnerships with school districts and communities to ensure our work is centered on the needs and experiences of students, families, and educators. Before joining CCGI, Selma worked in education for over 20 years in roles that supported equitable opportunities for students to have the widest array of postsecondary options, including 11 years as a high school counselor and head counselor and ten years in district leadership roles. She has supported both Fresno Unified and Madera Unified School Districts in standardizing counseling services and programs to ensure that all students, regardless of the school they attend, receive high-quality counseling services. Selma earned her bachelor's degree in health science with a focus on community health, as well as her Master of Arts degree in education counseling and student services, from California State University, Fresno.

She also provided technical training to site personnel in best practices to ensure data integrity in local and state student information systems.

Shannon Coskran

Sheri Hiebert

Tamai earned her B.A. in Child Development from Cal State University, Northridge, her M.A. in Special Education from Cal State University, Dominguez Hills, and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University.

Additionally, she served on several retention working groups and data-user and product-implementation teams.

Prior to founding CCGI, she spent a decade working to promote college access and success for first-generation, college-bound students in Los Angeles County. Her participation in the development of the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, which simplifies the financial aid application process for students and families by directly importing tax information into their FAFSA, led to a focus on how data and technology could be used to lower academic and vocational barriers for students. Tess earned her Doctor of Education from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she focused on data-supported regional efforts to articulate high school and college coursework.
