Amy Jiang is an undergraduate student majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley. Her main interests include sustainable engineering, decarbonization and electrification, and mechatronics. Outside of the lab, Amy enjoys photography, playing videogames, and cooking with her roommates.
Antonio Herrera is an undergraduate student studying Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Engineering Design. He is interested in hardware product design, AI use in engineering design, and human-centered engineering. In his free time, Antonio is an amateur DJ and loves taking day trips around all the amazing forests and beaches of the Bay Area.
Duy Vu is an undergraduate student studying Data Science at UC Berkeley. His main interests are focused around feature engineering, working on consumer products, and design. In his free time, Duy likes to listen to new genres of music focused around punk and EDM, read webnovels, and watch K-Dramas.
Elisa Kwon is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley. Her main research interest is in exploring human cognition during the engineering design process, drawing on work from cognitive neurocience and psychology. She graduated with a BASc in Engineering Science and MASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto. Outside of the lab, Elisa is enthusiastic about live music, thrift-flipping DIY projects, and Christopher Nolan films.
George Moore is a Mechanical Engineering PhD candidate, concentrating in product design. Empowering marginalized communities and exploring sustainable design opportunities are the core of his work. Hence, he often uses and critiques frameworks related to Design Thinking and Life Cycle Analysis. In his down time you'll find him on the basketball court or at the closest open mic.
Isaac Hernandez is a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate student enrolled at Miracosta Community College. His passion lies in automotive and manufacturing engineering, with a strong emphasis on environmental consciousness. During his leisure hours, he immerses himself in designing and 3D printing innovative gadgets. Additionally, Isaac takes charge of a school club and dedicates his time to assisting others.
Jonathan Wong is an undergraduate student majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley. His main research interests concern product design and game design as he truly enjoys tinkering and invention. He enjoys playing badminton, designing and playing card games, and making music in his free time.
Kelly Ye is an undergraduate student majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Data Science at UC Berkeley. Her main interests include accessible and sustainable design, human-computer interaction, and machine learning. In her free time, Kelly designs for social impact with Intervention Corps of Berkeley and likes playing volleyball, baking, and traveling.
Omar is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering co-advised by Tarek Zohdi. His research interests include the use of multi-agent modeling and optimization. He graduated from Boise State University with a B.S. in Mechanical engineering. In addition, Omar enjoys discovering new foods, indoor gardening and forcing his cat to spend time with him.
Parjit Khakh is an undergraduate student studying Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley. He is interested in aviation engineering, unmanned aerial vehicles, and robotics. In his free time, he enjoys going on hikes around the Bay Area, playing basketball, and 3D printing.

Kosa Goucher-Lambert is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. He is an Affiliate Faculty member in the Jacobs Institute of Design Innovation and the Berkeley Institute of Design. Kosa received his B.A (2011) in Physics from Occidental College, and his M.S. (2014) and Ph.D. (2017) in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. His primary research interests focus on understanding decision-making processes in engineering design using a combination of mathematical analyses, computational modeling, human cognitive studies, and neuroimaging approaches. Kosa is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, 2019 Excellence in Design Science Award, and several best paper awards from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Design Society. Kosa primarily teaches courses on integrated product development, with an emphasis on complex socio-technical challenges.
Rafi Hanafiah is an undergraduate student majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley. His research interests revolve around how designers solve design problems with CAD tools and sustainable design. In his spare time, he produces electronic music under the name Wafflous and enjoy the outdoors with friends - whether that be on foot, in a car, or on a bike.
Samuele Colombo is a visiting PhD student at UC Berkeley from Politecnico di Torino (Italy). He is pursuing a PhD in Management, Production and Design focusing on the neurophysiological and psychological aspects of Decision Making in conceptual design and production planning. His interests also include entrepreneurship and user-product interaction. He enjoys acting and cooking for other people in his free time, while looking for the next unicorn startup.
Xiaowen Liu is an undergraduate student studying Computer Science and Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley. She is interested in decision-making in design, human-computer interaction, and experience design research. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, watching variety shows, and having deep talks with close friends.
