Cherry Ali

Cherry Ali qualified as a dental nurse in 1982. Alongside general dental nursing Cherry took an active interest in management and went on to gain the BTEC Professional Certificate in Dental Practice Management in 2004. In 2002 Cherry joined the staff at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill initially as the Senior Dental Nurse of the Dental Access Centre overseeing the day to day running of the department at East Surrey Hospital and its peripheral clinics at Caterham Dene Hospital, Dorking Hospital and Merstham Clinic. Later on her role developed and she became Senior Special Care Dental Nurse after gaining her Certificate in Special Care Dental Nursing in 2008. In 2013 Cherry returned to general practice and took on a supervisory/managerial role, currently working as a practice manager. Cherry has taken an active part in the training and development of dental nurses and holds the A1 Assessors Certificate and Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) Certificate. Cherry is the online tutor for the Certificate in Special Care Dental Nursing programme.

Claire Kingsnorth

Claire started dental nursing in 2004 and gained her NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing in 2005. Claire started her career in general practice then transferred to working alongside a Specialist Orthodontist in 2008. Claire has achieved further qualifications in Dental Radiography (2009), Orthodontic Nursing (2010), Impression Taking (2011), Oral Health Education (2018), Fluoride Application (2019) and Plaque Scoring (2019). In June 2019, Claire moved to work in the Orthodontic and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery department at an NHS Trust where she works with Consultants and the maxillofacial team specialising in complex orthodontic treatments, surgical procedures and Head and Neck cancers. Claire has over 15 years' experience in dental nursing and gained her Fellowship with the BADN in July 2019. Claire is an active member of the dental and orthodontic nursing community, is a member of the Orthodontic National Group and regularly attends the British Orthodontic Conference and National Dental Nursing Conference. Claire has recently achieved the Level 4 Award in Education and Training and Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice . She is the lead tutor for the Minor Oral Surgery (Dental Nursing) course.

Kirsty Rodger

Kirsty started working in general dental practice in 2009 and qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2011 at the Aberdeen Dental Education Centre. After qualifying, Kirsty enrolled in a number of courses to expand her knowledge and duties, including the NEBDN certificate in Oral Health Education, Impression taking and construction of study models, Fluoride application and Clinical Photography. After moving from Aberdeenshire to London in 2016 to work in a multi-disciplinary practice, Kirsty found her love for Orthodontics. After gaining the NEBDN Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing, Kirsty was accepted to study Orthodontic Therapy at King's College London, and is now working at Orthodontic Gallery in Essex as an Orthodontic Therapist. She has also completed her Level 3 in Education and Training and Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice. Kirsty is the tutor for our Extended Duties programmes and an additional tutor on the Orthodontic Nursing programme.

Sharon Grant M.

Sharon Grant has over 30 years' experience in the dental industry holding various roles in that time, and is the Centre Manager at Delta Dental Training. She holds a B.Sc (Honours) in Oral Health Science and many qualifications in education including the Certificate in Education, A1 Assessor Award, Lead Internal Verifier and External Quality Assurance certificate. She has also completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Dental Education at the University of Bedfordshire to maintain updated teaching skills. Sharon's area of special interest is radiation protection and all aspects of dental radiography. Sharon completed her MSc in Dental and MaxilloFacial Radiology from Kings College, London and was awarded a Professional Certificate in Radiation Safety (pass with merit) from University College, Dublin. She has also undertaken training in CBCT techniques. Sharon is the course tutor for the online Certificate in Dental Radiography and Certificate in Dental Imaging courses and our Award in CBCT top up programme.
