DOCTORS FOR CHOICE GERMANY

Doctors for Choice Germany was founded in 2019 by Dr. Alicia Baier (physician) and Leonie Kühn (medical student)... They are many physicians who dedicated their life to work and improve reproductive health and justice in Germany. However, they were missing a platform to connect and share their work and experiences. Doctors for Choice Germany was founded in order to fill this space. This was urgently needed, considering the increasing gap in abortion care and the current German abortion law criminalizing doctors providing such abortion care... We continue to call for the development of certified advanced training opportunities, based on the Dutch model, which enable abortions to be carried out. These should be open to all doctors, including those in residency in general medicine, and should entitle them to carry an additional qualification (e.g. "Doctor for reproductive health").
