Adel Dajani

Adel Dajani is partner at Emergence Partners, leading efforts in principal investment operations. Adel brings more than 30 years of experience in M&A and corporate finance and has founded or has been associated with several specialist Maghreb related financial companies including the International Maghreb Merchant Bank, Aman Bank Libya and Maghreb Ventures Partners. His career started as a corporate financier with Wardley Ltd, the investment bank of HSBC in Hong Kong. After six years with HSBC Mr. Dajani moved to London where he was a Founder and Managing Director of London Court Ltd (www.londoncourt.com), a specialised corporate finance house operating in the emergent markets of S E Asia and the Maghreb and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority of the UK. Mr. Dajani was educated at Eton College and the Universities of London. He is a qualified barrister at law and a member of the UK, Hong Kong and Libyan Bar Association. Adel is based in Tunis and London, he speaks French, English and Arabic.

Houssem Kheder - CEO, Founder

Houssem Kheder is Founding and Managing Partner at Emergence Partners. He has 15 years of experience in Private Equity, investment banking and financial advisory gained at Swicorp Private Equity, KPMG Paris and UBS Paris. At Emergence, he has advised clients on domestic and cross-border M&A, fundraising and debt raising transactions in the fields of private education, healthcare, agribusiness, packaging and financial services. Houssem is leading the firm new principal investment practice. He is also in charge of the firm's HR and marketing efforts. Prior to that, he held an Investment Manager position within the Intaj Fund investment team, managing circa USD 220m. While at Intaj, he executed several PE deals in consumer goods, logistics and packaging industries in Tunisia, Algeria and Turkey. Previous experiences include KPMG and UBS investment bank in Paris. Mr. Kheder holds a Master of Science in finance from EM Lyon Business School, Lyon, France and a Bachelor of Science in management from IHEC Carthage, Tunis. Mr. Kheder is based in Tunis, he speaks French, English and Arabic.

Michael Porter

Michael Porter is Partner at Emergence Partners, leading cross-boarder M&A transactions. Michael began his corporate finance and advisory career over 25 years ago as a member of the Founding Team and Executive Partner of Swicorp - a MENA focused investment bank licensed by the Saudi FSA and the DIFC. During his career, Michael advised on more than USD 2 Billion of M&A transactions, strategic alliance, IPO's, etc. across a variety of sectors including, hospitality, food, retail, energy and media. He also served as the Chief Risk Officer of the Swicorp Group with Assets under Management of USD 1.3 Billion. Mr. Porter holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Thunderbird School of Management (USA) and a B.S.B.A. from University of Central Florida. Michael is based in Tunis and Geneva, he speaks French and English

Slim Ouali - CEO, Founder

Slim Ouali is Co-founder and Managing Partner of Emergence Partners. He has nearly 18 years of experience in Private Equity, investment banking and financial advisory gained at Swicorp Private Equity and KPMG Paris. At Emergence, he led diverse transactions involving LBO's, cross-border M&A, and capital increases for high growth companies in the fields of private education, healthcare, agribusiness and financial services among others. Slim is in charge of the firm's finance function and leads business development efforts. Prior to founding Emergence, Slim spent 5 years at Swicorp Private Equity as Vice-president within the finance and operations team. At Swicorp, he played an active role in fund and investments structuring, post-transactions operations and investor relations. He also served as a board member to companies active in packaging, construction materials, cosmetics, energy, etc. During the first 5 years of his career, he served as manager at KPMG Paris where he executed several due diligence and audit engagements for French blue-ship companies. Mr. Ouali holds a Master of Science from IAE Aix-en-Provence, France and a Bachelor of Science in management from IHEC Carthage, Tunis. Slim is based in Tunis, he speaks French, English and Arabic.
