Jan Rein is from Wyoming and moved to Omaha, NE to be closer with her family. She joined Hemenway Associates, Inc. in November 2016 bringing experience and expertise as a Bookkeeper/Accountant preparing financial statements, payroll, tax returns and all business operations. Jan enjoys the challenge of working with a variety of businesses and helping her clients.
Jan attended Western Nebraska Community College for accounting as her emphasis and is presently working on becoming a Registered Enrolled Agent.
Ms. Rein has 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and in her spare time she loves working on craft projects, watching sports and is an avid Denver Broncos fan. Jan also likes to spend time swimming and watching television series with her family.
Ms. Hanson is an Enrolled Agent who has worked for Hemenway Associates, Inc. for over 15 years.
She works primarily in a consulting capacity with corporate clients on their accounting, business, budgetary, tax, and payroll needs. She also prepares tax returns during tax season, and is certified in QuickBooks as a ProAdvisor.
She holds a B.S.B.A. from Creighton University.
Joan Hemenway has been with Hemenway Financial Services for several years, overseeing the office's operations and managing the Accounting and Tax Preparation departments. Passionate about her work, she finds it refreshing to face new challenges, help clients and coworkers solve problems, and continually expand her knowledge through continuing education.
Joan has worked in finance for most of her career. Prior to joining the team, she worked at First Data Corporation for over a decade. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and her Master of Business Administration from Creighton University. She holds FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65 Registrations with LPL Financial, as well as Annuity, Life and Health insurance licenses, and is an Enrolled Agent. She is currently a member of the National Association of Professional Women.
In her free time, Joan enjoys yoga and reading mysteries and physics books. An animal lover, she has rescued several of her pets from animal shelters. During days with nice weather, she enjoys walking them daily. As a Creighton alumni, she enjoys rooting for the college basketball team.

Founder and CEO, Joseph Hemenway, is an Enrolled Agent, Accredited Tax Advisor, Accredited Tax Preparer, Investment Advisor Representative and holds a Life and Annuity Insurance license with the State of Nebraska.
Founder and CEO, Joseph Hemenway, is an Enrolled Agent, LPL Investment Advisor Representative and holds a Life and Annuity Insurance license with the State of Nebraska. He has been a practicing tax accountant for over 25 years.
Prior to starting his own practice, he worked in the manufacturing industry as a consultant, Executive Vice President, Secretary Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors, company controller, group and division controller, division budget director, accounting supervisor and senior cost accountant spanning more than a 27 year period.
He is a two time graduate of Creighton University with a B.S.B.A. and an M.B.A. Mr. Hemenway also served honorably in the armed services.
Ms. Hemenway-McDonnell is President and a shareholder at Hemenway Financial Services.
She began working for Hemenway Associates, Inc. in 1987. Her primary concentration is tax preparation, consulting and planning. She has represented clients in tax audits, collection cases and other related matters. In addition, she has experience in business planning, payroll accounting and has more than 25 years of experience serving clients in the Omaha area.
Ms. Hemenway-McDonnell graduated from Creighton University with a B.A.
Ms. Thompson joined Hemenway Associates as a Tax Preparer In January 2013. Prior to joining Hemenway Associates, she spent 20+ years with the Internal Revenue Service in Taxpayer Services. She trained IRS employees and VITA volunteers in the U.S. and in Europe. Training was her specialty, along with working with the Taxpayer Volunteer sites in Omaha.
She is also a Notary Public for the State of Nebraska.
