DATO' PATRICK is currently the Senior Partner who oversees the policies and operations of the practice. In his over 30 years of working experience, he has managed statutory audits for a number of public listed companies, which has established his strong technical skills in the profession of auditing, accounting and consultancy. With his extensive accounting and auditing background and resourcefulness coupled with his pragmatic approach and good communication skills, Dato' Patrick has provided valuable advice and assistance to clients in a wide range of industries which includes, amongst other things, corporate restructuring exercises and company flotation.

DR. AMY LIM

Dr. AMY, an accountant by profession, is a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of United Kingdom (FCCA), a member of Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) a member of the Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA Australia) and ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountants (ASEAN CPA). She is also a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Malaysia ("IPAM") and INSOL International of United Kingdom. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration (Major in Finance) from a local university. Dr. Amy has over 35 years of corporate receivership and liquidation experiences in diversified industries, external auditing, management consultancy, financial advisory, investigation, corporate restructuring and turn-around management. She is an Approved Liquidator under the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. In March 2006, she was appointed by the Advocates & Solicitors Disciplinary Board as a member of the Disciplinary Committee Panel pursuant to Section 96 of the Legal Professional Act 1976 and continuing to serve as the committee until today. In November 2007, she was invited to serve as a co-opted member of the Insolvency Practice Committee of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has since been serving the Institute until today. In January 2010, she was appointed by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants as a member of the Insolvency Practice Sub-Committee (IPC), which is one of the Sub-Committee under the Institute's Public Practice Committee. In August 2010, she was invited to serve as a Member of INTI Education Group Industry Advisory Board for Faculty of Business, Accounting and Finance and continuing to serve as the IAB.

John commenced his career with HLB Ler Lum in 2009 involving in audit and corporate recovery services and became a partner in 2019. He is a Fellow member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and INSOL International, bringing over 15 years of professional experience to his role. He has extensive experience in various audit assignments comprising clients ranging from private companies to public listed companies engaging in manufacturing, advertising, trading, construction, hotels & resort, management services, investment holding, telco, property development, maritime & offshores services. With his keen understanding of clients' business, operation and people, paired with his personable and innovative approach, he has helped clients to grow and improve their businesses. Additionally, he has standing experience in multiple corporate exercises, due diligence, insolvency assignments and corporate recovery projects. This has allowed him to provide clients with insightful advice and diversified services, such as financial reporting, practical accounting issues and good corporate governance practice. He aims to deliver dedicated and value-adding advice and guidance for his clients and stakeholders to achieve practical solutions. As a member of the award-winning HLB Global China Service and our HLB International Contact Partner, he collaborates with our HLB member firms worldwide to provide professional advice as well as business support and practical assistance for clients doing business in and out of Malaysia. Kelvin Chew - CEO

​Kelvin Chew is the Managing Partner of HLB Ler Lum Chew PLT, bringing over 15 years of professional experience in audit and assurance. Kelvin has managed a diverse portfolio of medium to large-sized entities, including public listed and multinational companies across industries such as information technology, property development, construction, power generation, food and beverage, telecommunications, oil and gas, and manufacturing. His expertise encompasses coordinating cross-jurisdictional component auditors for clients with a global presence, serving as a reporting accountant for special corporate exercises, acting as an expert witness in court proceedings, and delivering presentations at events organized by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).​ Kelvin holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from Monash University, Australia. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). Additionally, he is a registered auditor with the Audit Oversight Board (AOB). LUM TUCK CHEONG

MR LUM is the Senior Partner of HLB Ler Lum Chew. He is a chartered accountant by profession, and also an approved company auditor registered with Audit Oversight Board, approved liquidator, receiver and/or manager as well as a tax agent. Mr Lum has more than 40 years working experience in the field of audit, tax, corporate finance, receivership and insolvency assignments as well as corporate consultancy. He first articled with an international accounting firm, Price Waterhouse (now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers), Kuala Lumpur and has obtained vast exposure in auditing public and private companies. He was seconded on two occasions from Price Waterhouse to Sime Darby Berhad, a Malaysian conglomerate, and Sabah Land Development Board. The former was for systems review and implementation of the computerisation program for all Sime Darby's estates. The latter was to oversee and manage the accounting department in the capacity of Regional Accountant. Mr Lum has also assisted many clients on listing of their companies to the Main and Second Board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange, Tokyo Stock Exchange, Luxemborg Stock Exchange and the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange and was involved in numerous corporate exercises for HLB Ler Lum's listed clients. He was also an independent non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of a second board listed company. MATTHEW ANG

MATTHEW graduated in law from University of London (external) in 1994 and curre ntly is a member of INSOL International (an International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals) and Malaysian Corporate Counsel Association and is an associate member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia. He joined a local bank in 1995 and then a credit company in 2000. He then joined HLB Ler Lum and held the post of The Head of Group Legal and Corporate Affairs and International Liaison Director. He is currently our Senior Executive Director for Legal & Restructuring Services. In his early years in banking/credit industry, he was attached to various departments, e.g. the credit administration, corporate banking and corporate recovery. He was involved in the review drafting and implementation of loan documentations and also the conversion and upgrading exercise of BNM's reporting system light of Y2K. Since 2003, Matthew has involved in business advisories and consultancies work ranging from pre-incorporation to the setting up of companies, merger & acquisitions of corporations and restructuring to dissolution of corporations (i.e. court winding-up, members' voluntary winding-up and creditors' voluntary winding up). As an in-house legal counsel, he has successfully advised and participated in numerous insolvency matters, court litigation, arbitration, dispute resolution, scheme of arrangement (in reviving and rehabilitating abandoned development projects in Malaysia), sale of business/ moveable/ immovable property, property development (housing, commercial, industrial and mixed development projects), industrial court matters, tribunal, small claims, setting up of joint management bodies and management corporations, stratified building related matters (the Building And Common Property (Maintenance And Management) Act 2007 and Strata Management Act 2013), and Personal Data Protection Act 2010. To-date, he has spoken and shared on "The Revival and Completion of Abandoned Housing Projects via Winding-Up" with various ministries/government agencies like Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan, Lembaga Perumahan dan Hartanah Selangor, Jabatan Insolvensi Malaysia, Putrajaya and Ipoh Branch and also numerous financial institutions like HSBC Bank Malaysia, Malayan Banking Berhad and CIMB Berhad. STANLEY LOONG

STANLEY LOONG has experience in corporate taxation ranges up to large public listed companies, government agencies, as well as SME's in a spectrum of industries including plantation, property development, contractor, manufacturing, trading, information technology, retailing and etc. Besides statutory taxation for corporations, individuals and partnerships, he also has hands-on experience in providing tax audit and investigation, business restructuring, tax due diligence and review, tax advisory, real property gains tax and application for tax incentives as well as indirect taxes. He constantly updates himself with the latest development in taxation matters. He has attended the Goods and Services Tax ["GST"] course and successfully passed the GST examination organised by the Royal Malaysian Customs. Currently, he has hands-on experience in preparing Malaysian companies for GST and Sales and Service Tax ["SST"] compliance. He is an associate member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (ACTIM) and also an approved Income Tax Agent under Section 153 of the Income Tax Act 1967.

She joined HLB Ler Lum in 2012 with special interest in corporate recovery services and cross border business development. Her area of discipline spans across corporate scheme of arrangement, asset recovery, debt settlement, company law and tax compliances, litigation support, mediations, tribunals, real estate transactions, banking foreclosures, estate planning and distribution. Besides that, she also undertakes consulting assignments involving cross border transactions, tax advisory and business expansion plans for international clients. Currently, she is the lead engagement coordinator of our dedicated Asia/China Desk services, a member of our award-winning HLB Global China Service. She collaborates with government agencies as well as HLB member firms across the globe to provide local support and professional advice for international clients. She was also invited to speak and share on her expertise at the 11th World TongAn Conference Youth Forum on "Creating and winning your future", an international Chinese forum to inspire young entrepreneurs. Wendy offers critical analyses to cases and disputes and provides strategic advice and practical solutions to clients and stakeholders. With over 10 years of working experience in corporate recovery and legal affairs management, she has proven success in achieving case and tribunal awards, advantageous settlements, favourable recoveries and practical resolutions to disputes.
