Carmen Veldhuijzen van Zanten was born and raised in Spain to an American mother and a Dutch father. She moved to the UK, where she completed her university degree in Health Sciences focused on nutrition, followed by her second degree in Midwifery.
She continued on to work as a midwife in some of London's busiest hospitals, gaining experience all different areas of midwifery, from antenatal care, to labour ward and birth centre, as well as community midwifery care doing homebirths and postpartum care. Carmen moved to the Netherlands in 2016 where she joined the gynaecology team at the International Health Centre the Hague to work as a midwife.
Her special interests are in nutrition for pregnancy, fertility and postpartum, as well as general midwifery care.
Dr Cas Holleboom was born in Indonesia but was raised in the Netherlands. He graduated as a doctor at the University of Leiden in 1980 and did his specialization as gynaecologist at Maria Hospital (Tilburg) and University Hospital Utrecht (1987). His PhD he obtained at Radboud University of Nijmegen (1996) after research on how to treat threatened preterm labour. From 1987 until 2020 he worked at Bronovo Hospital, The Hague, with special interests in Obstetrics, Fertility and general Gynaecology. For more than 20 years he was a gynecology trainer for medical students and residents in training to become gynecologists and residents in International Health and Tropical medicine.
Cas Holleboom joined the IHCH team in February 2022.

Dr van Duijvenboden is a certified scuba diving instructor and a medical examiner of divers. He provides diving related screening and checks together with advice about fitness related to diving. He also has expertise in both general and elderly care treatment; cardiovascular risk management; diabetes; asthma/COPD and minor surgery.
Dirk Ebbers was born in Hamm and grew up in the northern part of Germany. He followed an education at the Medical School of Cologne and graduated in 1996. Thereafter, he advanced his specialisation in General Medicine, which he completed in 2000. After his study he had his own practice in Hannover for five years, before moving to The Hague in 2009.
Kristel Willems was born and raised in Ghent, Belgium. In 1994, she graduated from the University Ghent Medical School. After graduation, she specialized in gynaecology and obstetrics in Bremen, Germany until 1999.
Following her tenure in Bremen, she worked as a gynaecologist in the Centre for Prenatal Medicine based in Munich. Once her second daughter was born, she moved with her husband to The Netherlands.
From 2006 to 2012, she worked at the Bronovo Hospital in The Hague, and has also worked at the Zuidoost Kliniek in Amsterdam. In January 2012, she joined the International Health Centre The Hague.
Kristel has two daughters, and, in her spare time, she enjoys dancing, hiking, biking and reading.

Dr Rossana Giugliano was born and grew up in Napoli, South of Italy. She graduated in medicine in 2004 and specialised as an anesthesiologist in Italy in 2009. In 2009 she moved to Holland where she worked in various Dutch hospitals.
Dr Giugliano completed the residency program in Hospital Medicine in Haaglanden Medical Center in The Hague in 2016 and worked as a Hospitalist in HMC for many years. She is currently is registered as Hospitalist in The Royal Dutch Medical Association KNMG and is a member of The Dutch Association of Hospitalists (VvZG), she has attended a Health Care Management Course.
Dr Giugliano has been working at the International Health Centre, The Hague since October 2019 as a Specialist in prevention medicine, and since 2020 as the Head of the Polyclinic. She provides health checks for personal and professional needs, for Embassy's, certificate of good health and is on the official Physician Panel for the US Embassy.

Dr. Samay Nadery started Medicine at the University of Leiden in The Netherlands in 2001, received his doctorandus in 2003 and his MD in August 2005. After a clinical elective at Yale New Haven Hospital / Yale University School of Medicine, USA, he returned back to The Netherlands for his internal medicine residency program, from 2006 at Medical Center Haaglanden, The Hague. From May 2010 until Dec 2013 he focused on infectious diseases and acute internal medicine with an experience in vascular medicine at UMC-AMC in Amsterdam.
Since Dec 2013 Nadery works as an internist at Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC). He is one of the members of the working party of Dutch-Antillean-South American (DAS) Clinic on Emerging Infectious Diseases and Rheumatology. He is also initiator / chairman of the Retrospectus Committee (Complication Committee) and the chairman of Antibiotic Committee, until 2015 he served the Infection-Prevention Committee as the acting chairman and the Pharmaceutical Registration Committee of Sint Maarten as a member.
Nadery was in the last years active as a member of the Caribbean Vector Borne Disease Network, Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/ World Health Organization (WHO), member of platform The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labor - Sint Maarten & School of Medicine, The American University of the Caribbean.
In 2020 he took responsibility of COVID 19 care, coordination of COVID 19 at SMMC, creating guidebook, advising the government of Sint Maarten, American University of Caribbean, advising health professionals of the Islands Saba and St. Eustatius of Dutch Kingdom. His participation in COVID-19 outbreak management team of SMMC and Dutch Caribbean was one of his main activity in 2020.
Dr. Nadery joined the IHCH in Jan 2021 to contribute to the care of patients in internal medicine and infectious diseases.
Dr. Louyse Dumas Correia graduated as a doctor of medicine at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR) and worked as a general physician in Brazil. In 2021 she started working at the IHCH as part of our Preventive Medicine team, providing health checks for personal and professional needs.

Ms Liza Abarquez is a specialised nurse at the IHCH who has been living in The Netherlands since 1996. She has professional experience working in hospitals in both The Philippines and The Netherlands and has been working at the IHCH since 2014.
After graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Philippines in 1995 and gaining professional experience also in The Philippines, Ms Abarquez then came to The Netherlands. In recent years she has undergone additional training in both Belgium and The Netherlands in the areas of diabetes; allergy testing; sleep diagnostics and lung-function testing.
Ms Abarquez now works in our Special health programmes specialising in health issues associated with Sleep Apnea; Allergy Testing and Spirometry.
