With an original goal of becoming an FBI agent, Jesse Tanksley was inspired to become an attorney after gaining first-hand experience at a law firm during his time in law school. The Hutchinson native graduated summa cum laude from Washburn University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science, and he received a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2009. During law school, he was a note and comment editor for the University of Kansas Law Review, and he interned for the U.S. Attorney's office in Kansas City, Kansas during his third year. After graduating from law school and passing the bar exam, he began his career as a research attorney for the Kansas Court of Appeals, where he worked on a variety of criminal and civil appeals. After that, he worked for Stinson Leonard Street LLP in its Wichita office, where he primarily represented large companies in business and employment litigation. Jesse joined Mann Wyatt & Tanksley in January 2015 and now focuses his practice on negligence and product liability cases. He's licensed to practice in Kansas state and federal court, as well as the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. He's a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Reno County Bar Association, and the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association. "Any attorney can have the knowledge, but you also have to have the dedication to getting a good result for the client. You have to be an advocate for the client and put them first."

Kansas Negligence Laws

Under Kansas law, a person injured in an accident may be able to recover compensation when another party caused the accident because of their negligence. Negligence occurs when someone doesn't meet the standard of care legally owed to others. An example of properly performing this duty is lawfully and safely operating a motor vehicle.

After interning at Mann Wyatt Tanksley Injury Attorneys in 2013, Mason Lent was inspired to pursue a career as an attorney. Originally from Wichita, Mason graduated from the University of Kansas in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He then attended the University of Kansas School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor in December 2016. During law school, Mason spent a summer as a legal intern for the Sedgwick County District Court. Additionally, he was involved in the Douglas County Legal Aid Society where he represented adults and juveniles charged with crimes in Douglas County. After graduating law school and passing the bar exam, Mason began his career as an attorney at the defense firm of Hite, Fanning & Honeyman, LLP in Wichita. At this firm, his practice focused on insurance defense in the areas of automobile accidents, premises liability and medical malpractice. Mason joined Mann Wyatt & Tanksley in November 2018 and focuses his practice on personal injury, automobile accidents and workers' compensation. He is licensed to practice in Kansas state and federal court, Missouri state and federal court, and Colorado state and federal court. He is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and the Wichita Bar Association. In his free time, Mason enjoys watching the Kansas Jayhawks compete in basketball. At a young age, Michael J. Wyatt admired the attorneys in movies who represented "the little guy." He went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts (Summa Cum Laude) from Washburn University in 2004 and a Juris Doctor (with honors) from Washburn University School of Law in 2007. He then started his career with the Wichita defense firm of Klenda, Mitchell, Austerman & Zuercher, LLC. Today, Mike is a partner at Mann Wyatt Tanksley Injury Attorneys Midwest Personal Injury Firm, a trial attorney, and an award-winning published author. Sam Schulte

A native of Hutchinson, Kansas, Sam Schulte graduated from Washburn University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. While at Washburn, Sam was also the captain of the men's golf team. Sam obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2016. During law school, he was the president of the Christian Legal Society and received a Business and Commercial Law Certificate by studying and specializing in all aspects of business law.
