Alison Love

Alison Love joined the firm in May 2016. She is a member of the Michigan Bar, Washtenaw County Bar, and Illinois Bar. Alison is also on the board of the Washtenaw County Women's Lawyer Association. Prior to joining the firm, Alison was a practicing family law attorney in Peoria and Chicago, Illinois. Alison actually wrote a brief that was argued at the Illinois Supreme Court, In re Marriage of Mayfield, 2013 IL 114655. Alison's family moved to the Ann Arbor area in summer 2015. From a very young age, Alison knew that she wanted to practice family law. In 2009, Alison graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minors in English and History from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. During her undergraduate studies, Alison was inducted into the Political Science Honor Society (Pi Sigma Alpha). In 2012, Alison graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law. Alison's hometown is in Peoria, IL, a close-knit community like Ann Arbor. Since childhood, Alison has been very active in sports, especially soccer. She played soccer in high school and through college. Alison is still an avid sports fan; however, she has less time to participate in sports because she spends as much free time as possible with her husband and two young daughters. Cassandra (Sandy) Musser became an associate attorney with the law firm in 2014 and is now a partner. She is a member of the Michigan bar and Washtenaw County bar. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Musser interned for the Honorable Timothy P. Connors. As an intern she wrote legal memorandums and consulted with legal staff in opinion writing. Judge Connors introduced Ms. Musser to Peacemaking Courts, which has now become a part of her legal practice. Ms. Musser graduated from Indiana University in Fort Wayne, IN in 2006 with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in management and marketing. During her undergraduate studies, she was a recipient of a scholarship from the Cole Scholars Foundation for her work in business start-ups and entrepreneurship. She graduated with honors. After graduating from Indiana University, Ms. Musser started working in sales management. During this time she received national awards for her successes in business management. After her accomplishments in business management, Ms. Musser decided to change directions and started working for a law firm as a legal assistant. During this time, Ms. Musser discovered her passion for the law and she immediately began applying to law schools. Ms. Musser attended Thomas M. Cooley where she was a founder and Vice President of the student chapter of the Women's Lawyer Association of Michigan, member of moot court, awarded the Book Award by the Honorable Timothy P. Connors for Family Law Trial Skills and by the Honorable Donald E. Shelton for Forensic Evidence in Criminal Cases, and a member of the American Inns of Court. During law school, Ms. Musser served as a student attorney at the Washtenaw Public Defenders Office.
