SOUP KITCHEN

We served 53,980 meals in 2020 (average of 148 guests per day). Due to the generosity of the community, at times we have found ourselves with a surplus of food, and thus we have partnered with many organizations in Niagara to share what we can and even prepare meals for. In 2020 we were able to partner with the Salvation Army Food Truck to serve 80 meals a week for 7 weeks, and we also partnered with Out of the Cold shelter from November 15 to April 15 to provide 210 meals/week. In addition, we give what we can to Third Space Cafe, the YWCA on Culp Street, and more. Any food that is not fit for human consumption is donated to local farmers for their livestock, or composted. Through a partnership with Streetworks we have been able to have a worker available on certain days to talk about safe needle use, exchange and NARCAN. Yearly costs are over $100,000.
