Alex Stewart

Alex has over 40 years of experience in the practice of corporate and securities law and the natural resource investment. He has been a director of numerous public companies on various exchanges including Nasdaq, NYSE, TSX and TSXV. For the last fifteen years he has focused exclusively the on mining and metals sector and has been instrumental in sourcing, funding and developing high-quality mineral assets in North and South America. In the past he was the founder, seed financier and principal behind a number of mining projects including the Cote Lake Project, acquired by IAM Gold in 2012 for over $580m and the Eagle One polymetalic project now owned by Noront Resources. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto Law School and a Diploma, LCE, from the University of Madrid.

Anthony Moreau

  • CEO and Director of American Eagle Gold
Anthony Moreau is the CEO and Director of American Eagle Gold. He is also a Director of QC Copper & Gold and Orefinders Resources, both TSXV listed companies. He previously worked with IAMGOLD comprising different roles within the organization, most recently Business Development and Innovation. He gained valuable experience working in a continuous improvement function at the Rosebel Gold Mine in Suriname. Tony has spearheaded many industry initiatives, one of them being an international co-op peer benchmarking program owned and run by the participating mining companies. He leads the Young Mining Professionals Toronto Chapter and is the Co-Chair of the YMP Scholarship Fund. A graduate of the Queen's School of Business, Anthony is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Antoine Schwartzmann M.

Antoine Schwartzmann is our Project Geologist who joined our team in June 2018. Mr. Schwartzmann is responsible for the data management, modeling and targeting of our projects working directly with the VP of exploration, Charles Beaudry. Mr. Schwartzmann is a geologist with over 3 years of experience both in Canada and abroad. Previously he was working with Newmont in French Guyana from 2015 to 2018 as an Exploration Geologist in remote areas of the rain forest. Mr. Schwartzmann did his studies in France at the BRGM (France's reference public institution for Earth Science applications in the management of surface and subsurface resources and risks) and did his master thesis with the IEP (International Explorers & Prospectors Inc.) performing lithogeochemical mapping to discover new potential areas for exploration.

Cameron McKay

Cameron MacKay was brought on with Baselode in November 2020 to serve as Project Manager of the exploration team. Prior to joining Baselode he was the Senior Exploration Geologist with Purepoint Uranium Group Inc. where he played an integral role in delineating the high-grade uranium Spitfire prospect. In addition, he worked as a Senior Bedrock Mapper with the Canada-Nunavut Geoscience Office where he worked with a diverse team of individuals to map the geology of the Hall Peninsula, Baffin Island, Nunavut. Mr. MacKay holds both a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Geological Sciences from the University of Saskatchewan and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.

Charles Beaudry M.

Charles is a P. Geo with over 30 years experience in project generation, business development, exploration chemistry and hands-on project management. Charles previously held the position of General Manager of new business opportunities with IAMGOLD Corporation from 2008 until 2009, after having spent nearly 17 years in various capacities for Noranda-Falconbridge-Xstrata, including as country manager of Brazil from 1996 to 2001 and manager of the Frieda River Project from 2005to 2006. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Geology from the University of Ottawa and a Masters of Geology from McGill University.

Derek Teevan

Derek joins the Ore Group team as Vice President - Strategic Engagement and will offer support to each of the Group's projects. Derek is a respected mining executive with an extensive background in resource development from permitting through to operations. Proven track record of building government, employee and Indigenous partners engagement and support processes. He is a strategic leader with a keen understanding of public policy leading to reduced regulatory burdens, while maximizing opportunities to reduce costs. A trusted problem-solver known for getting deals done. A recognized leader and frequent speaker on corporate social responsibility, communication and Indigenous relations. In previous roles as Senior Vice President Corporate and Aboriginal Affairs, Derek was on the leadership team from exploration through to production, at Canada's largest gold mine - Detour Gold which was acquired for $4.3 Billion by Kirkland Lake Gold. Within the same region of Ontario, Derek was also a Director at De Beers Canada and on the team that permitted and built the Snap Lake NWT and Victor Projects, a $1Billion, first and only diamond mine in Ontario.

Gautam Iyer M.

Mr. Iyer has over ten years of experience in the mining industry. He has a background in geology (B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Toronto) along with an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. Gautam is a trained geologist with significant experience in Mining Finance and Corporate Development. Before joining Orecap, Gautam led the corporate development efforts at a mining investment-related technology company. He previously played an important role in the team that created Ore Group, where he was involved with capital raising, asset acquisitions and taking portfolio companies public. Before that, he was in Equity Research at Canaccord Genuity.

Gerry Brockelsby

Mr. Brockelsby has over 45 years of experience in the investment industry in both the equity and debt markets, covering a wide range of public and private companies, from micro-caps to large capitalization companies in various industries. For eight years, Gerry was Chief Investment Officer for the Inco Pension Plan, where he managed equity and bond portfolios and the overall asset mix of the $1 billion plan. During this period with Inco, he also gained intimate knowledge and experience in the mining industry. Throughout Gerry's career, he gained extensive experience as a seasoned investor in the resource sector and has developed a sound reputation with both resource companies and investors. In 1989, he formed Marquest Asset Management Inc., a registered investment management firm that managed assets for several major pension funds. In the following years, Marquest built a successful high-net-worth fund business offering various specialty fund mandates to investors, including managing resource flow-through funds. Upon retiring from Marquest, Mr. Brockelsby formed StoneGate Securities Ltd. to provide advisory and investment banking services to the mining community and continue to pursue his passion for investing in the resource sector.

Guy Le Bel

Guy Le Bel brings 35 years of experience in strategic and financial planning, project development and M&A to Quebec Copper and Gold. Until recently, he was chief executive officer of Aquila Res. and, previously, CEO and CFO of Golden Queen Mining Ltd. He was vice president evaluations for Capstone and vice president business development for Quadra/FNX Mining Ltd. Mr. Le Bel also held business advisory, strategy and planning, business valuation, and financial planning management roles at BHP Billiton Base Metals, Rio Algom Ltd, and Cambior Inc., together with independent consultation mandates across the industry. He provides extensive experience across base and precious metals industries in the America. Mr. Le Bel has held board positions in numerous junior exploration and mining companies since 2007. He is currently appointed to the boards of Kintavar Exploration and Sirios Resources. Mr. Le Bel holds an MBA Finance from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (Montreal), a Master Applied Sciences, Mining Engineering from University of British Columbia and a B.Sc. Mining Engineering from Universite Laval. He is a professional engineer (O.I.Q.).

James Sykes

James brings 10 years of Athabasca Basin uranium exploration and discovery experience to the team, most notably from prominent roles for NexGen's Arrow deposit and having provided invaluable work on Hathor's Roughrider deposits. Over the past decade, he has been directly and indirectly involved with the discovery of over 500 M lbs. of U 3 O 8 in the Athabasca Basin.

Jamie Spratt

Jamie Spratt has extensive experience in equity research and investment banking. Most recently, he has been President at Walmsley Capital Inc. a mining-focused advisory business since 2019. Prior to founding the firm, he spent 10 years in mining equity research at Clarus Securities Inc. where he built a strong track record with global institutional investors. Jamie began his career in investment banking, focusing on M&A in the metals/mining and industrial sectors. He has an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, a B.A. in Applied Economics from Queen's University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Joel Friedman

Joel Friedman has been appointed the Company's Chief Financial Officer. Joel is a finance professional with over 13 years of experience working in the mining and cannabis industries. Most recently, Joel served as the CFO of Khiron Life Sciences Corp, prior to this, he was Vice President, Finance at CannTrust Inc., and Director of Finance at Primero Mining Corp. and senior finance roles at Banro Corporation and Iamgold Corporation. Mr. Friedman began his career at Deloitte in the Real Estate and Resources group, where he worked with a variety of publicly listed clients throughout the mining lifecycle, from exploration to multi-asset operators. Mr. Friedman holds a CPA, CA and Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University, Canada.

Mark Bradley

Mr. Bradley, P.Geo holds a B.Sc. in Geology, a M.Sc. in Economic Geology and has over 35 years of experience in the mining exploration and development business. Mark was Barrick Gold's Cortez Project team leader during the discovery and definition of Barrick Gold's multi-million-ounce Goldrush deposit. Cortez and Goldrush are located just some five km to the northwest and north respectively of American Eagle Gold's Golden Trend project. For this discovery, he was a co-recipient of the prestigious Thayer Lindsley Award for International Mineral Discovery from the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada. During the Goldrush discovery program, he guided and managed the Cortez exploration team of 20+ geologists and over two hundred contracting personnel.

Michael Mansfield - VP

Mr. Mansfield is a Vice-President, investment professional with Industrial Alliance Securities Inc. Mr. Mansfield has 20 years' experience as investment advisor specializing in the Canadian venture market working both on the private and public investors and companies. He has a track record of successfully taking public over a hundred of companies through the completion of qualifying transactions by Capital Pool Corporations and secondary financings. Mr. Mansfield graduated from the University of Calgary in 1989, articled with KPMG and obtained his CA designation in 1993 and CFA designation in 1998.

Stephen is the founder and Chairman of Ore Group, a private company focused on natural resource discovery and development. Stephen is the Founder and Chairman of the Young Mining Professionals Scholarship Fund, the largest mining-focused charitable organization supporting mining engineering and geology education. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, and a Master of Science from the University of Florida.
