Rick is currently in the process of setting up The Paxton Foundation, which will provide money for various leadership organizations and a scholarship fund for two seniors in each of the high schools in the tri-county area in which Paxton lives... Rick Paxton has spent a lifetime in the service of others. He spent almost 25 years in uniform with the US Navy and US Coast Guard, until his retirement in 2010. After that, Rick became involved with the Civil Air Patrol, helping to teach leadership to cadets from ages 12-21. He has served as Commander of the Cape Fear Composite Squadron in Wilmington, NC and the NC Legislative Squadron and now works as the Government Relations Adviser and Director of Development for the Mid Atlantic Region. Additionally, he has volunteered for the local emergency management and has served on numerous committees in his community.
