Bruce L. Marcus

Bruce L. Marcus, Esq. has over 25 years litigation experience. He served as a public defender, counsel to local and state government and as an associate in a general practice law firm prior to forming MarcusBonsib, LLC in 1990. Bruce L. Marcus is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Attorneys and AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been appointed by the Court of Appeals to serve on its Character Committee. From 1986 through 1998 he served as a member of the Attorney Grievance Commission Inquiry Panel. He was twice elected by the local bar membership to serve as its representative on the Governor's Judicial Trial Courts Nominating Commission. He served as Special Counsel to Prince George's County, Maryland from 1988 through 1994 and was a Senior Trial Attorney in the Office of the Public Defender for Prince George's County from 1980 through 1988. He has served on the Faculty at Prince George's Community College and as a Member of the Board of Regents for the University of Maryland. He regularly handles criminal and civil matters in local, state and federal courts.

Megan E. Coleman, Esq. is a criminal trial lawyer who concentrates her practice in the state and federal, trial and appellate courts in Maryland and is recognized as one of the best appeals attorneys in Maryland. Megan E. Coleman, Esq. has been practicing criminal defense with Robert C. Bonsib, Esq. and the law office of MarcusBonsib, LLC since 2008. Ms. Coleman has experience handling misdemeanor and felony cases in Maryland State and Federal Courts including at the trial and appellate levels. Ms. Coleman has defended clients against assault, DUIs, drug possession, drug distribution, burglary, theft, fraud, identity theft, sex offenses, murder, and a host of other charges. Megan Coleman was born in Buffalo, New York. She graduated from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York with a B.A. in Spanish, a minor in Legal Studies, and a Management Studies Certificate from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration. Ms. Coleman attended the Catholic University, Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C. where she received her J.D. While in law school Ms. Coleman served as an intern at the United States Department of Justice in its Criminal Division. She also participated on a trial team where she received an award as the Best Overall Advocate among 40 trial advocates at an invitational co-sponsored by the American Bar Association Criminal Law Section. Ms. Coleman worked her second and third years of law school as a law clerk at MarcusBonsib, LLC under the supervision of Robert C. Bonsib, Esq. With Mr. Bonsib as her mentor, Ms. Coleman obtained first-hand experience in the field of criminal defense and had the opportunity to prepare for complex and high profile trials and to draft numerous trial and appellate briefs including a petition to the United States Supreme Court which was granted and a summary remand was issued. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Coleman became admitted to the bars of the State of Maryland, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Ms. Coleman also became a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys' Association, the Maryland State Bar Association and its Litigation and Criminal Law Sections, the American Bar Association, the Prince George's County and Montgomery County Bar Associations, and the CJA Appellate Panel for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. After college, Ms. Coleman attended the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. During law school Ms. Coleman participated in a number of activities to prepare her for trial advocacy. Ms. Coleman participated on a trial team where she received an award as the Best Overall Advocate among 40 trial advocates from all over the country at an invitational co-sponsored by the American Bar Association Criminal Law Section. During law school, Ms. Coleman gained valuable internship experience. Ms. Coleman interned with the United States Department of Justice in its Criminal Division, Child Exploitation and Obscenities Unit. Ms. Coleman researched various statutory and sentencing issues that arose in those cases, and prepared legal memoranda for the prosecuting attorneys. Ms. Coleman also worked as a law clerk at MarcusBonsib, LLC under the supervision of Robert C. Bonsib, Esq., whose practice was focused on criminal defense. In that position Ms. Coleman helped to prepare complex and high-profile trials, drafted numerous appellate briefs, and personally drafted a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari which the United States Supreme Court granted and issued a summary remand. Ms. Coleman became a member of the Maryland Bar on December 17, 2008. This December marks Ms. Coleman's 10th anniversary as a practicing attorney in Maryland and as an Associate at MarcusBonsib, LLC. Over the last decade, Ms. Coleman has contributed to the legal community by volunteering her time as a coach for a high school mock trial team, authoring monthly legal articles for the Prince George's County Bar Association NewsJournal, and giving legal presentations to other practitioners.
