SALMAN SUFI FOUNDATION - Key Persons
Adeel Imtiaz brings over 12 years of extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and strategic leadership to the Salman Sufi Foundation. A seasoned finance professional, Adeel is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA - ICAEW) and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). His career began at Ernst & Young (EY), where he gained invaluable experience in auditing, taxation, and financial advisory services.
Following his tenure at EY, Adeel served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Kalamkaar, where he was responsible for overseeing all financial functions and driving the company's financial strategy. In 2016, he joined The Urban Unit as Manager Finance, where he played a pivotal role in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Adeel's expertise and leadership were recognized when he was appointed as the Acting Chief Financial Officer in 2022, a role in which he successfully led complex financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing financial growth until December 2023.
At the Salman Sufi Foundation, Adeel's passion for financial excellence and his commitment to aligning financial strategies with organizational goals are instrumental in advancing the Foundation's mission of fostering social change and empowerment.
Salam is one of the most celebrated activists of Pakistan, fighting for gender equality and environmental security across the country. She is a recognized freelance journalist regularly contributing to Dawn, The Newsline, Express Tribune, The News on Sunday, Aurora and Pique. She also provides media training on Climate Change and Environment, Gender issues, Media Ethics and Social Media Outreach and Digital Security and is part of many advocacy campaigns. Salam has worked for the Environmental sector while working as the Coordinator, Communications and Outreach, IUCN-Pakistan. She is also Vice President, Sindh Chapter, Citizens' Media Commission of Pakistan, a media watchdog body, Councilor for Helpline Trust, a consumer rights organization, Advisor for National Forum for Environment and Health, Associate for HASWA, Healthcare and Social Welfare Association, Trustee for Saneeya Hussain trust. Salam will bring her expertise and passion for social justice to the high powered SSF board.

Shah is the CEO of RB Pakistan Hygiene Home, a subsidiary of British based FMCG MNC RB. He is also on the executive boards of RB Pakistan, Saaf Sehat Mand Pakistan & on the advisory board of Iqra University in Pakistan. He is also part of Middle East North Africa & Pakistan cluster leadership team for RB. Shah is a graduate of IBA and throughout his career of 18 years, he was responsible for RB business in various other countries including KSA, Middle East, North Africa & Iran where he was part of the leadership team responsible to manage over $1b business. He is a socially conscious transformational leader who believes in purpose driven business ideas to create a social impact. In Pakistan, he is working on social issues related to Health & Hygiene as well as work place inclusivity. Shah will bring his expertise and passion for social justice to the high powered SSF board.

Hafsah is our Director Global Partnerships. Hafsah brings in extensive experience and expertise working on gender-based violence as well as women, peace and security initiatives in Pakistan and abroad. She was previously the Project Lead for Pakistan's first Violence Against Women Center in Multan, and has worked on Countering (and Preventing) Violence Extremism programs in Africa and elsewhere.

Shafaat is the Director of Creative Junction, one of Pakistan's leading creative design agencies. Shafaat leads the agency's drive for innovation and business development. With two decades of experience in agency leadership, Shafaat has worked with many global and local organizations. He is a change-maker, leading Creative Junction's strategy to offer its clients cutting edge services in digital media. as well as helping his clients with their marketing transformation in a rapidly changing environment. Shafaat will bring his expertise and passion for social justice to the high powered SSF board.
Zaidi is an award-winning senior broadcast and multimedia journalist, news and communications manager and trainer with more than 2 decades worth of experience working in top national and international organizations. Zaidi is currently working as an Editor Investigations and host of program "Zara Hut Kay". Zaidi also looks after the content of current affairs programs on Dawn TV. During his distinguished career, he has broken exclusive stories that have made international headlines including an exposé on an air force cadet's death due to ragging, military coup and corruption, Mukhtaran Mai's casecoverage, lawyers' movement, Benazir Bhutto's assassination, and a sect-free mosque story that earned him the Journalism for Peace award. Zaidi will bring his expertise and passion for social justice to the high powered SSF board.
Senator Farooq is a Business graduate, a former professor, a lawyer, a sitting Senator and a single parent - the true embodiment of women empowerment. She has also been a member of the Parliament of Pakistan and is celebrated as the architect of Pakistan's Polio turnaround from 2013-2018. In honour of her achievements, the Government of Pakistan conferred her with Young Development Leaders Award in August, 2016 and the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan conferred her with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, the third highest civilian award in the country, on 23 March 2018. Senator Farooq will bring her expertise and passion for social justice to the high powered SSF board.

Khan is a Senior Associate at the prolific Ramdays Advocates and Corporate Counsel and has expertise in criminal laws, labour laws, intellectual property laws, civil laws, land laws, family laws banking suits, offences in respect of banks, customs tribunal among others. Sher holds an LLM from Kings College London and is an active supporter of women empowerment by setting an example in the legal community. Khan will bring her expertise and passion for social justice to the high powered SSF board.
