Dr. Jay Jolley

Dr. Jay Jolley returned to his hometown of Chattanooga in 2004 to provide specialty care in adolescent scoliosis, artificial disc replacement and cervical spine surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and attended medical school at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Jolley served his internship and residency at the UT College of Medicine in Chattanooga and then relocated to Salt Lake City to complete a combined orthopedic and neurosurgical Spine Fellowship at the University of Utah. In 2019, Dr. Jay Jolley earned his MBA at the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Matthew Bernard

California-born, Dr. Matthew Bernard is a pioneer and leader in outpatient joint replacement. He was the first to perform fast track hip and knee replacement in our region in 2014. Since then, he has delivered joint replacements to thousands in our area and is committed to returning patients to their lives in a caring and personal manner. While earning his BS and MA degrees at the University of Alabama, he was also a pitcher for the Crimson Tide's baseball team. While there, he met and married his wife, Sarah. Together, they have three beautiful children. Dr. Bernard attended UT College of Medicine in Memphis and stayed for his residency at the esteemed Campbell Clinic. After residency, he moved on to Stanford University for his hip and knee fellowship. In 2012, he settled in Chattanooga to begin orthopedic practice. Dr. Bernard is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon with appointments in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons. All staff is professional and helpful. Dr. Bernard is always accessible to his patients. My new knee is amazing and I can't wait to complete the other one next month!

Jessica Scott

Jessica Scott, Physician Assistant to Dr. Jay Jolley, grew up in Cleveland, TN. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Professional Biology from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2005. Jessica then pursued Physician Assistant Studies at Wake Forest University School of Medicine where she graduated with honors and a Masters of Medical Science degree in 2010. Jessica is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is also an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. I have been to Southeastern Spine, Brain and Joint for several years. I have always been treated with respect and listened to. Jessica is the ultimate professional. Her staff is equal in their service. Thank all of you very much.

Rebecca Payne

Rebecca Payne, Nurse Practitioner to Dr. Jay Jolley, grew up in the Chattanooga area. She graduated from the nursing program at Dalton State College in 2002 and worked for six years at Memorial Hospital. Rebecca attained a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga in 2008 with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration. Rebecca joined Southeastern Spine and Joint in 2014 after working for five years in a related specialty. Rebecca is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I have been a patient of Dr Jolley's for 12 years and with Rebecca Payne from the time she joined Dr Jolley's staff. They both are exemplary members of the medical profession.
