Carlos was born in Mexico City and, throughout his upbringing, attended some of the best and most reputable schools and universities in the country. He was offered a position in Burlington, Ontario, Canada and relocated to work for Nabel Leasing / Citibank Leasing in their head office. His next position brought him back to Mexico City to head the marketing division of IMEXA, one of the premier financial leasing companies in the country, where he remained for the next decade. Carlos was then invited to work at the National Fund for Tourism Development (FONATUR) and in 1982 was sent to FONATUR Los Cabos heading up marketing and sales for the Los Cabos area.
Carlos and his wife immediately adopted Los Cabos as their new home and saw it as the perfect place to start a family and raise their children. They were here to stay and quickly became active members of the community. His next venture took him back into the private sector developing and building the first condominium project, "El Conquistador", on what was to become the San Jose Golf Course. Not to take a moment's rest, he then co-founded Baja Properties; one of the first real estate brokerages in Los Cabos.
He also actively participated in the foundation of The Los Cabos Developers Association A.C. as well as various other community support groups throughout a 35-year span. Today he is dedicated to the development of Mision Buena Vista, an integrated master-planned community in Buenavista, East Cape, B.C.S.
His years of experience in financing, marketing and sales, his position in FONATUR, combined with dedicated involvement in the community, gives Carlos his unique perspective and extensive knowledge. His focus today is real estate from the northern areas of Los Cabos to the southern portions of the La Paz municipality, in what is now known as the East Cape. In 1983 while on a fishing trip to Los Cabos, Don took a ride up a narrow road to the sleepy little pueblo of El Pescadero. He knew right away he had discovered someplace special.
Returning to El Pescadero every year, Don eventually bought land there from a local chili farmer, learning the real estate business from the ground up. Moving full time to the area in 2001 to begin building his home on that land, Don acquired extensive local experience in construction. Some days were easier than others! Max was born and raised in West Vancouver, Canada to loving parents whose hobby happened to be delving into the real estate market in their area.
