David A. Wilford

David A. Wilford is a founding partner of Wilford LLP. Mr. Wilford's practice is dedicated to the handling and, if necessary, litigation of complex commercial disputes with an emphasis on disputes involving insurance and reinsurance. For almost 25 years, Mr. Wilford has regularly served as lead counsel for domestic and international insurers in complex insurance and reinsurance matters throughout the United States and Canada involving securities fraud, trademark infringement, product liability, construction defect, employment discrimination, legal malpractice and other professional liability matters. In addition, Mr. Wilford has represented insurers under commercial crime policies/bonds in connection with some of the largest financial fraud claims ever asserted in the United States. Mr. Wilford also has extensive commercial litigation experience as he regularly represents corporate and individual clients including the defense of an international insurance broker in malpractice litigation related to purported failure of a multi-million-dollar insurance program and the successful representation of a national golf equipment manufacturer in the prosecution of patent infringement and breach of non-competition agreement claims against a rival manufacturer. Mr. Wilford is frequently retained to review contract wordings for various professional liability insurers and crime insurers and to provide internal seminars on claims handling, litigation and current trends for his insurance clientele.

Pamela K. Prednis

Pamela Prednis serves as a Partner at Wilford LLP. Ms. Prednis is a coverage attorney with experience in high-exposure claim counseling and management for prominent domestic and international clients in cases of worldwide interest. She has expertise in rendering complex coverage positions on behalf of insurers, and directing and negotiating multi-billion dollar cases. She has represented primary and excess carriers in claims involving bankruptcy trustee litigation, directors' and officers' liability, employment discrimination, ERISA actions, medical malpractice, merger and acquisition lawsuits, professional liability, real estate actions, SEC and other regulatory proceedings, securities fraud class actions, and shareholder derivative litigation. Ms. Prednis serves as coverage counsel for insurers in high-exposure lawsuits of worldwide recognition involving multi-million dollar policy limits on both a primary and excess basis. She advances intricate coverage positions consistent with client philosophy, resulting in the withdrawal and abandonment of claims exposing clients to hundreds of millions of dollars in liability. Directs litigation, supervises defense counsel and negotiates with insureds to successfully resolve coverage disputes. Consults insurers on risk analysis and evaluates liability exposure; reviews and recommends policy language.

Sabina B. Danek

Sabina Danek represents the interests of domestic and international insurers in professional liability, general liability, commercial crime, and D&O contexts. She focuses her practice on insurance coverage litigation and arbitration with respect to both primary and excess coverage of public and private entities. Sabina's experience includes coverage analysis, risk exposure and mitigation, and appropriate reserve and resolution strategies. She carefully guides her clients in reaching efficient resolutions of coverage disputes in pre-suit, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution forums. Sabina also serves as defense counsel for various claims and issues, including wrongful death, product liability, and employment matters. Sabina's diversified experience includes counseling clients in claims administration and policy analysis matters, as well as representing clients in complex disputes involving multi-billion dollar construction projects, hostile takeovers of Fortune 500 companies, trade union fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic, shipping conflicts of international trade organizations, and all manner of financial fraud and professional malpractice. In addition to her litigation and coverage practice, Sabina regularly conducts training seminars for claims and underwriting staff on emerging insurance coverage issues, jurisdictional concerns, and best practices for claims handling. Prior to joining Wilford LLP, Sabina worked extensively in civil litigation matters at both trial and appellate levels. As in-house counsel for a Florida-based insurance company, she independently handled a heavy caseload of insurance defense and coverage lawsuits. Sabina also worked as an associate for a boutique law firm representing businesses in complex litigation and international trade regulatory matters, including economic sanctions. Sabina received her law degree from Notre Dame Law School, where she served as a member of the ABA National Moot Court Team. As a research assistant to Professor Jimmy Gurulé, former Under Secretary of Enforcement at the U.S. Department of Treasury, Sabina assisted in drafting a treatise on national security law as well as writing amicus briefs filed U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court.
