Angela Connolly

Angela began her dental nursing career in 2003 in a general and orthodontic practice as a trainee, after which she qualified as a dental nurse. She has gained invaluable experience and knowledge in oral surgery, paediatrics, prosthodontics and special care dentistry. She continued her professional development and completed certificates in sedation, radiography and oral health promotion and decided to join an orthodontic practice in 2015. After some family time at home with her husband, two daughters, dog and fish, she joined The Clinic, Naas in 2019. Angela has spent many years as an executive committee member to the Irish Dental Nurses Association, helping to promote, educate and develop dental nurses.

Anita Keane

Anita is one of our longest serving staff members. She joined the practice in 2001 to commence her training as a dental nurse and showed a keen interest in orthodontics and oral surgery. In 2016 she took on the challenge of front-of-house, taking control of all general administration duties and has risen to every new challenge such as our computerised daybook and practice management system. Anita's cheery and helpful nature has seen her become one of our most popular staff members with patients, young and old alike. She has genuine care and compassion for her patients and goes above and beyond to look after them.

Carol Downey

Job Titles:
  • Dental Hygienist
Carol graduated as a dental hygienist at University College Cork/ Cork Dental Hospital in 2009 with honours. She had previously qualified as a dental nurse in Trinity College Dublin/ Dublin Dental Hospital, also with honours. She has been employed with various private practices in Carlow, Abbeyleix, Health Service Executive, Donegal, Dublin, and Kildare. Carols hobbies and interests include cycling, being a member of a walking club, swimming, and photography. Her principal role as a hygienist is removal of plaque and calculus from around the teeth. Her appointment time can vary from 30 minutes up to 1 hour and includes controlling periodontal (gum) disease, providing fissure sealants, fluoride therapy, desensitizing agents, smoking cessation, diet advice, brushing, flossing and other oral hygiene measures.

Daisy O'Sullivan

Daisy began studying Dental Nursing in 2014 in Dublin Dental Hospital gaining knowledge and experience in every aspect of dentistry. She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2016 and has a keen interest in oral surgery, paediatric dentistry and aesthetic dentistry. In 2020, Daisy completed a post graduate course in Dental Radiography in Dublin Dental Hospital in which she received distinctions. She is continuing her professional development by undertaking a certificate in dental sedation, hoping to qualify in 2021. She has been part of the team at The Clinic, Naas since 2015. She has excellent interpersonal skills and is a great working asset to the nursing team. She holds a great passion for her role within the dental team and finds the job extremely rewarding due to the expanding role of the dental nurse. Outside of dental nursing, she enjoys baking, photography and hiking.

Dr James Hamilton

Job Titles:
  • Clinical Director
James graduated with honours from Trinity College Dublin in 1994. During his time in college, he was awarded a Foundation Scholarship. This was only the fourth such scholarship awarded to a student of dentistry. In his final examinations, James was awarded the Dental Council Prize for achieving a distinction in Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology. After graduation, James worked in the Dublin Dental University Hospital and in private practice in London, Rome and Dublin. During this time, James continued his training, developing his skills in his areas of clinical interest, implantology, orthodontics and restorative dentistry. In the field of surgery, James was awarded a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a Postgraduate Diploma in Implantology from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He has completed courses in sinus lift and Guided Tissue Regeneration in specialist centres in Gothenburg, Boston, Marseille and London. More recently, James has undertaken training in conscious sedation and pain management in the University of London. In the discipline of orthodontics, James has completed a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Warwick, achieving a distinction for the quality of his clinical cases. He has a special interest in non-extraction orthodontic treatment, low-force appliance systems, the use of mini-implants and the importance of the face in diagnosis and treatment planning. James is committed to using the latest biomaterials and advanced technologies, which along with his multi-disciplinary qualifications, ensure the highest standard of care for his patients.

Dr Jill McTernan

Jill graduated with honours from Trinity College Dublin, where she holds a position of scholar after successful completion of the prestigious scholarship exams. She worked as a House Officer in the Dublin Dental School alongside some of Ireland's most experienced dentists, providing treatments such as crown and bridgework, root canal treatments and paediatric procedures. She subsequently worked on a busy Oral and Maxillofacial surgical team in Poole Hospital, England. There she developed her oral surgery and soft tissue handling skills and provided emergency dental treatments. Jill has recently returned from Toronto where she was working in two busy practices, providing high quality dentistry to her patients. Jill has an interest in advancing dental education and academia and won an award for best audit from the Irish Dental Council in 2018. She has been published in European journals and presented her research at conferences in the UK and Brazil. Jill has completed exams to become a member of the Faculty of Dentistry of The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and has also gained a diploma in Primary Dental Care from the same institution. She has completed further training in facial aesthetics, root canal treatments, clear aligners, and children's dentistry. She has worked alongside many consultants in her hospital posts and has experience working with all types of patients. She prides herself on providing a high level of care in a calm and caring manner. Jill has recently moved back to Newbridge, where she was born and raised.

Dr Katherine Young

Katherine is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin. She established our Newbridge practice in 1990. Over time, she has expanded the dental team and developed the facilities and the variety of treatments on offer. Katherine carries out routine dentistry and treats a lot of very nervous patients, both young and old. She is very interested in the development of children's and young adult's teeth so that they both function and look well. Katherine promotes prevention of tooth decay and gum disease and works with each patient to achieve their healthy smile.

Dr Michael D'Arcy

Michael is a graduate of UCD and The Dublin Dental School. He is a past president of the Irish Endodontic Society. Michael commenced practice in Naas with Dr Ronan Owens over 40 years ago. Prior to this he has been in general dental practice in London and Wexford. He has also worked for the HSE (The South Eastern Health Board) and has demonstrated and lectured in the Prosthetic Department of the Dublin Dental Hospital. In 2011 he joined more recent times he joined with Dr James Hamilton at The Clinic, Naas, where he is currently in practice.

Dr. Paul Redbond

Since qualifying from Guys Dental Hospital, London in 1996, Paul has always had a particular interest in the aesthetics of a smile and the relationship of the teeth, lips and face to a perfect appearance. As a result, Paul has considerable experience in aesthetic dentistry including teeth whitening, veneers, crowns and implants, and also offer a facial aesthetic service (anti-wrinkle injections/dermal fillers) to improve the face and lip appearance for optimum results. As your general dentist, Paul has three main aims: To ensure that your oral health, hygiene and maintenance regime are maximised to preserve the optimal health of your mouth, teeth and gums; To identify, assess and treat any disease affecting your mouth, teeth or gums; When required, to assess plan and advise in aesthetic dental or facial procedures to enhance, restore or improve the appearance of your smile, and to undertake such treatment when appropriate.

Dr. Tom O'Brien

Tom has worked in Newbridge since 2007 with many happy patients. He is 35 years qualified and proud to say he keeps up to date with all aspects of dentistry and enjoys all of them. He considers it a privilege for him to treat patients in Newbridge. Tom focusses on applying the best techniques and research with the long-term goal of helping people to keep all their teeth for life, while maximising their appearance in an easy a way as possible. He does this bearing in mind that many patients are nervous. Trust and confidence are crucial for good outcomes for patients as well as solid advice.

Elaine Lynskey

Elaine joined the team in 2018 as a member of our front-of-house in Naas. In 2020 she took on the role of Practice Manager and now heads up our very dedicated team. She is responsible for overseeing the smooth operations of the practice, ensuring The Clinic, Naas & Newbridge deliver the highest standard of dental care and service to every patient. With over 15 years management experience within the dental and financial sector and achieving a diploma in Frontline Management. she has gained strong one-to-one client relationship skills and excellent organisational skills.

Evelina Vukmanovic

Evelina is our newest team member, having started with The Clinic, Naas in November 2020. She qualified as a midwife in Croatia in 2010. She has 10 years' experience in general and dental nursing, working as a midwife, in IVF clinics, nursing homes and as a dental assistant. She is keen to further her professional career in the dental sector.

Lina Ziliene

Job Titles:
  • Dental Hygienist
Lina brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the practice with over 15 years experience as a dental hygienist. Lina graduated from Lithuanian University of Health Sciences with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2006. Her experience is both in periodontal and general practice. She joined The Clinic, Naas in 2018. She is registered with the Irish Dental Association (IDA). Lina believes in giving each patient the individual knowledge and tools they require to achieve and maintain periodontal health and stability.

Margaret Deegan

Margaret has over 40 years' experience in the dental industry, both as a dental surgery assistant and as part of the reception team. Prior to joining The Clinic, Naas, she worked with Dr Michael D'Arcy and Dr Ronan Owens in their practice on South Main Street, gaining experience in all aspects of practice. She is a familiar and friendly face for all the patients.

Niamh Kelly

Niamh graduated from DDH in 2006 and has been nursing for over 24 years. Before coming to The Clinic, Naas she worked in a well-established dental practice in Naas town, where she gained a wealth of experience to help her progress within her career as a dental nurse. Niamh joined the team at The Clinic, Naas in 2011 and she has become a friendly face to all of our patients. Niamh has genuine care and compassion for her patients. Outside​ of dental nursing she is busy caring for her busy family.

Samantha O'Brien

Samantha started her dental career in 2014. She is a highly experienced dental nurse and embraces the challenge of working in a busy practice where a variety of dental procedures are performed daily. She started with us in The Clinic, Newbridge in August 2020 and loves working here. She enjoys helping and interacting with patients. Samantha holds a great passion for her role within the dental team. She finds the job extremely rewarding. She is very keen to continue her professional development in the future.

Sandra Byrne

Sandra is the newest member to our front of house in Naas. She joined the practice in 2020. She previously worked as an administrator with the Dental Health Foundation and as Project Officer for the government's new Oral Health Policy. She has a higher national diploma in Business and Finance and a specialised certificate in Oral Health Promotion from NUI Galway. Her exceptionally caring nature and calm demeanor means she is a welcome addition to our team and is always there to lend a helping hand to patients.

Tina Mangan

Tina has been working in the dental industry since 1986. She qualified as a dental nurse from DDUH in 1990. She worked with Dr Michael D'Arcy and Dr Ronan Owens for many years before joining The Clinic, Naas in 2012. Her knowledge of the dental industry and personal rapport with many of the patients make her an invaluable member of our front-of-house team. She provides a friendly face and a helpful voice at reception. She ensures that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
