Our technology is designed to drive down the cost of CO 2 removal technology so it can scale quickly and mitigate the worst impacts of climate change... Our vision for Heirloom goes beyond our technology. We will prioritize siting our facilities on non-arable land as well as building our facilities in fossil energy communities to provide high-paying, climate-friendly jobs and to drive investment in education and reskilling... Heirloom is operating the first DAC facility in the United States to permanently remove CO 2 from the atmosphere, fulfilling customer carbon removal purchases in Tracy, California. The facility is fully powered by renewable energy, constructed with local union labor, and built in partnership with the City of Tracy and will pioneer a community governance model in the year ahead.
