SUSTAINABLE CROPPING

The Sustainable Cropping Systems Lab conducts research and develops educational materials to improve agricultural sustainability. Our research is focused on developing best agronomic practices for novel perennial crops and crop rotations so that they provide new economic opportunities for growers and essential ecosystem services. We educate current and future agricultural practitioners through field days, winter workshops, undergraduate and graduate classes, and community engaged research. This website features some of our work on Kernza(R) perennial grain, perennial oilseeds, alfalfa, organic agriculture, native plants, and education.
